“Sir, why are we going back towards the crash site?” One of the men asked as they marched along the now well used trail. Clay walked with his Winchester Model 70 on his hands while another man used a Kabar to slice through some grown up foliage.
“I want to check for anything else… I feel like something was missed,” Clay said as they walked through the jungles of Africa towards the wreckage. He didn’t think anything was missed, but there was something that pulled him back to the plane crash. Something was going on that he just didn’t understand.
The earthquake a few days ago had rattled his men and the few researchers they had. To be fair, maybe he just wanted to make sure the plane was still there, the last link to the world they were from. They weren’t going anywhere anytime soon. It was important to make sure it was still there… Hope of leaving…
They arrived at the plane to see it all appeared to be normal, though maybe a little worse for ware when it came to the fast growing veins. He motioned for everyone to spread out and check for anything that might have been missed. He hadn’t had a large group coming into Africa and now it was far smaller.

”If I may remind you, your highness you are not just a guest or friend of this family any more. You are a prince if something happens to you it’ll go sideways fast!”
Sam might have reminded Zazu he didn’t have to call him that for the… Upteenth time. But he’d pretty much made up his mind that the majordomo was not going to listen to him. Besides, when his friends had come to him jabbering about how they’d seen humans at the border, near the crash site well…
He had to know.
”Your father will hear about this!”
Sam turned finally about halfway to his destination to shout back. “He should! Just go get someone Zazu but the first ones to greet them shouldn’t be animals,” Sam was firm about this. “Adults aren’t as “welcoming” to this as I was. Let me handle first contact.”
He could hear him shout about needing back-up, but Sam was a stubborn cuss and set in his ways. By the time he reached his destination he could see them. Holy crap, actual humans. Sam hid first and watched… He saw some were armed. So he couldn’t startle them or Zazu was right it would go wrong.
“Ok… Think Sam, how do you do this?” He muttered.

Clay pushed some scrap with his foot, leaning down to flip it over to check for anything. What was it that he felt he was missing? He narrowed his eyes as he continued to inspect the wreckage, finding a small bag that was just under the leaves of some bushes. "Martin?" He picked up the bag and opened it slowly, checking the contents. Another ran up towards him, his M1 Garand slung over his shoulder as he neared. "Put this over there... Looks like some missed medical supplies." The man called Martin nodded and took the bag, glad to have something else to do.
The man stood and looked over at the wreckage before walking towards the line of forest. Maybe there was more wreckage in the jungle? It was possible. He looked up and saw the still busted canopy and nodded. "Martin!" The man looked back at him. "Take anything else you guys find, including some scarp, to base camp... I'm going to take a look along the path we hit." He was also hoping to maybe find any signs of more dead.
They deserved to be buried with the others at least.

Sam heard that.
Crap, they’d be walking right into the territory then and that was just going to be bad all around. If he was going to do anything he would have to do it now and fast. Well, he didn’t have a choice on what he had to do either. At least it would be an easier sight to take in then a bunch of talking lions that he’d been greeted with initially right? Albeit he expected a billion questions between his new muscular physique from all the physical activity and the fact he didn’t look like he’d been struggling to survive in the jungle beyond the furs he wore and his unkempt hair, so…
“Stop!”
He stepped out carefully after his firm, but calm shout. “Look, I know why you wanna go out there but we should really talk before you do,” he held up his hands to attempt to show he wasn’t a threat at least. “You guys really need to be talked to about what you’re walking into before you break like eight jungle laws.” He admitted.

Clayton turned suddenly at the shout and lifted his gun towards the sound, his finger pointed straight out to prevent firing by accident. What he saw shocked the hell out of him.
The kid... The kid that the main researcher insisted on bring. He was alive? How? And he looked... He looked different. It had been several months since the crash and they had been having a hard time with supplies and food. The researchers had been able to do what was needed, check out plants and such that were good for wounds or injuries. But the kid... The kid looked strong and well fed.
The words took a moment to register and he lowered his weapon towards the ground, his face formed into confusion. "Kid?" Clay was still shocked by what he was seeing before him. The man had been sure he was dead. They hadn't found anyone else outside of the crash sight. The man tried to look him over, seeing the difference in not only appearance but how he dressed. Barely anything... "What are you talking about? What jungle rules? It is a damn jungle." It wasn't like they had come across any other people.
"How the hell are you alive?" TAG: Samwel Igwe LOCATION: Border of Pridelands in Africa COMMENTS: ^_^

What jungle laws?
Did this guy not know you couldn’t just go shooting in the jungle anyway? He guessed not. But he also guessed he might have been a little vague by just calling them jungle laws. Where did he even begin? Oh right, how was he alive? That could be a good start. If they don’t think he was nuts.
“I almost died. But I was found by a lion Pride, they nursed me back to health and got me back on my feet,” Sam knew that part wasn’t too fantastical. He’d heard tales of animal kindness before now. “Their leader, Simba he’s uh… A literal king of this entire land?”
That part would be harder.
Doing his best not to look crazy, he took a deep breath and lowered his arms. “I know this is going to sound crazy, but this isn’t your normal jungle… I’m not even sure it’s our same world even,” Sam explained. “I’m just the advance party sent ahead to see if it was actually you guys. Seeing as I uh…”
He turned his head. “I was adopted into the Pride by Simba, you see like a literal adoption. I’m kind of his cub now,” he explained. “I needed to get here first. Because if you go in there with guns and freaking out at the nice talking animals you’re gonna land us in deep shit.”
As he spoke, a sound of huffing was heard overhead as Zazu had returned, barely having caught his breath. ”Young master, I’m going to have such words with you about listening and manners,” Sam’s eyes bulged as he turned to Zazu. ”You can’t just do things like that anymore. You could get yourself hurt!”
Upon turning to see the other humans, his eyes bugged. ”Oh good, you found the um…. Very big “adults”.”

Okay, the Kid had to have hit his head pretty hard to be telling him this whole thing. A lion pride saved him? Animals? Animals?! Clayton lowered his gun and took a step towards the kid when he spoke. "Kid, we have some medicine back at our camp area... One of the medics managed to survive... Lets get you there so they can check you and make sure you don't have some type of head injury." That was Clayton's main concern right now. The Jungle could wait...
Clayton knew that it was all just a head injury that wasn't treated right. He had to get the kid back there so he could be checked. Maybe he had an infection? That would lead to some pretty major hallucinations.
He raised his gun when he heard someone else speak and his eyes widened when it landed on a bird... A talking bird?! What the hell! How in the world could a bird be talking. He glanced around for any strange plants that might have caused him to go loopy. All he saw was green vines and a few flowers that were already around the base camp.
"What the hell?" Clayton said as he held his aim on the bird. TAG: Samwel Igwe LOCATION: Border of Pridelands in Africa COMMENTS: ^_^

"Rafiki, thank you for meeting me... Zazu said that there was word of some humans and that Samwel went ahead to speak to them first," Kiara said as she stood near the creek they needed to cross to head into the more jungle like area. It was thicker than the Savannah and on the border they shared with a lusher area.
As they walked, Kiara could pick up the sounds of talking, but she was slow. Something had told her to take her time and be silent. From what she had been told about humans, they could be very jumpy, especially the adult ones. Granted, even adult animals could be jumpy. As she neared them, her eyes scanned through the leaves of the thicken Jungle area and she glanced behind her for anyone with her. "Stay here."
It was likely best that only one of them made their appearance. Then, Zazu arrived and she saw the stick like thing that the other man was hold come up. He was using it in a forum of defense and it didn't look like a regular stick. It seemed dangerous. She jumped out and landed right in front of Samwel. Her jaws opened into a roar that shook the area, her ears back and her body in defense.

"Of course, Kiara... I knew this would happen soon, though I think Samwel going ahead is a good idea," Rafiki replied in understanding of the situation. Rafiki had observed humans in the past in his travels away from the Pridelands. Humans were a different type of animal and they were unpredictable at their best. Samwell Igwe had come a long way, but he was young and learning well. Mufasa's wise words and pride in bring Samwel had been shown to Rafiki in his chats with the great spirits.
As they approached, Rafiki could already see the dangers that were forming, but nodded to the young Princess his understanding of staying back. Samwel had done well so far, but it was too dangerous with that stick. Rafiki had heard of such things and it appeared to be one of those that sounded like thunder and caused great pain.
However, the Princess being between Samwel and the man was concerning. She could get hurt. TAG: Samwel Igwe, @kiara, James Clayton GreysonLOCATION: The Border of the Pride Lands COMMENTS: ^_^

Everything was happening too fast.
By the time that Kiara had shown to leap in front of him. Sam felt a bit of panic. Even though he was supposed to help this was more than he could handle in a lot of ways. He may have been a “leader” of sorts now, but this was new. Trying to take a deep breath and gather his composure.
Zazu, however, was the first to speak. ”Alright, let’s all take a deep breath before we escalate this further,” He decidedly pushed aside his own fears. He after all, had been in these situations before. ”Introductions first. I am Zazu, majordomo of his majesty, King Simba. And I would quite appreciate you putting your stick down so we can speak like civilized creatures.”
Sam on the other hand, took a step forward, putting a hand on Kiara’s back. Trying to keep her cool. “Look, I get it, it’s a lot to take in. A lot happened since we landed. The least of which was the earthquake,” Sam explained. He motioned toward Kiara. “This is my sister, Kiara. She’s the one in charge right now - and she’s um… A little protective.”
They all were, to say the least.
Zazu flew to a perch atop Sam’s shoulder. ”As for your “medics” Prince Samwel is quite fine in our care, thank you,” He said with a firmness in his voice. ”Despite his thick-headed ness in this situation, he is well cared for and a member of the royal family. Which I am responsible for. He will not be going anywhere without his parents’ consent in the matter.”
Sam took a deep breath, and patted Zazu. “It’s OK, Zazu. Chill,” he managed. “Look, let’s just all put the guns down and the claws away. Zazu’s right we need to talk about this like civilized. Creatures.” He at least tried.

The black-maned lion held back at his Princess' request. It was apparent he was unhappy with Sam and now Kiara having headed ahead. Certainly it was counter not only to sense, but to training, but Pridelanders were a strange bunch... that did seem to work out well for them. Thus he kept his position, keeping a keen eye on the situation.
Kovu winced as he saw Kiara spring to action, shaking his head... and he approached, though slowly. He wasn't going to do anything stupid, especially given the stick was pointed at that bothersome bird rather than the lioness. That Zazu spoke rather than flew boded well for the situation as Kovu came closer, paw by paw... b
Given the mouthy bird in question, he had doubts it wouldn't escalate things further. He spoke lowly, to himself though at the moment in earshot of Rafiki; "Kiara... Is everyone a bird-brain today?" he shook his head.
