Personality: As a young cub, Kiara always had a curious type of personality and a bit headstrong and rebellious. This has slowly been tempered back to being confident and independent, ready to take on the roll of Queen of the Pride Lands. Though she was once known to disobey her father, she has grown to understand his need to want her to listen to him and consider his side of things. Though she does not have an issue voicing her opinion, though does try to do so privately. Kiara is very friendly and kind-hearted, but unlike her father, she has a bit more of an open-minded and wishes to gain her own opinion of things.

She does not believe all Outlanders are bad, believes that each individual should be given a chance to prove their worth to the Pride. She has no issue allowing someone to make their own point and has since opened up about outsiders coming into the Pride Lands. She believes the Pride Land should grow and welcome all whom might need a place to call home, though that does not mean she won't keep an eye on them to observe their behavior. Over the years, she accepted being known as the future Queen and has become to take her lessons very seriously.

She has taken on royal duties and is willing to govern the pride lands while her father is unable to. Though she can get a rather big head when put into positions of authority. When her brother took on the role as Leader of the Lion Guard, she was skeptical, as she felt her brother was irresponsible, but chose to trust him when it became clear he was serious in his role. Over time, she grew to see him change and she as well...

Since the events of Zira's Death, Kiara has been plagued with worries and nightmares of losing others around her. She has tried to prevent her father's views from lurking into her forethought, but she wonders if there was ever anything that could have been done differently. She has battled with mild depression over seeing the death of Zira. When her brother returned, she learned how to be as diplomatic as possible, trying not to chose between the new Lion Guard which she has given her blessing to and her brother's guard, that she cared deeply for.

History: Kiara is the first born of Simba and Nala, King and Queen of Pride Rock and rulers of the Pride Lands. Only a few days after her eyes opened, she was presented to the animals of the Pride Lands as their Princess and future Queen of the Pride Lands. Kiara was loved by everyone and quickly became adventurous and ready to explore every place in the Pride Lands. It was not uncommon as a young cub that she would attempt to go on adventures and would be stopped by her father, who was a protective father. It was also not uncommon for her to get easily distracted as a much younger cub, much to her father's annoyance. This was something that she grew out of the older she got.

It was as a young cub, her mother was pregnant with her brother Kion. It wasn't uncommon for her to run off after being reminded of her father to stay on the marked trail and to not run off. In fact, she had no problem straying from the trails on her adventures, though Timon and Pumbaa seemed to always be near by enough to find her or Zazu. Though she is constantly told her her father that she will understand his views on Outlanders, though she does not carry that same view, she is a bit cautious when meeting new or unknown lions.

It was during one of her adventures that she met another cub, an Outsider named Kovu. Though she wanted to be his friend, she became fearful because of the words her father had always spoken and she refused to allow her back to be turned to him. She was defensive and bared her teeth at him, just like he was doing to her. Kiara did not like the way he mocked her, saying she always did what her father told her to do and that she was a daddy's little girl. It was apparent to her that by being where she was, she was not doing as her father had told her and was in a place he had told her to stay away from. She was amazed that he was obviously taking care of himself, but this nearly got them both in trouble when they ended up in the middle of a swamp, surround by Crocodiles that lived in the Outlands.

Unlike the Crocodiles in the Pride Lands, these did not respect the Circle of Life, nor did they know who she was. They did manage to get away and she finally introduced herself to Kovu while she was flirting with him. The two were about to start playing, when her father came from no where and so did his mother, Zira. Kiara was suddenly very scared during the whole thing and when it was over, whispered bye to her new friend, knowing she would likely not see him for a very long time.

As they returned home, she received a scolding from her father, Simba and asked why she had to be Queen, because it wasn't any fun. She wanted to be her, to be unique as herself and chose her own path as a lioness. It was that moment he taught her about being One with the circle of Life. At the time, she did not understand this message from him, but it did allow her to look at things different the older she got.

As she grew older, she began to accept her place as Princess. She is very opened minded about everyone, wanting to give everyonce a chance to prove himself. It wasn't something her father completely agreed with, especially when it came to those in the Outlands.

With her birth of her younger brother, she had already become quite confident and more open to the idea of being the Queen of the Pride Lands. When her brother was made Leader of the Lion Guard, she was When her brother took on the role as Leader of the Lion Guard, she was skeptical, as she felt her brother was irresponsible, but chose to trust him when it became clear he was serious in his role. Over time, she grew to see him change and become a sound leader. When Scar's return happened, Kiara was worried, though the plans her brother made were sound and did well for them. When Scar was again defeated by her brother, she worried for him due to his injury.

When he left, she became heart broken, watching as he left with his friends and guard to find a cure and help. She took on the role as heir, helping her father with Diplomatic things, but noticed how over-protective he once again became. This worried her, as she had seen him open up a bit during her brother's rise as Leader of the Guard.

When the events of her first hunt happened, she was reunited with Kovu, it brought back a strong memory from her childhood. She was bound to prove Simba, who had become increasingly protective with the departure of Kion and the Guard, that not all Outlanders were bad, especially Kovu. For a time, it seemed Simba was opening up to Kovu, but after an ambush, her closed all doors, leading to the exile of Kovu. Kiara was furious and felt her heart breaking... So badly that she ran away and after finding Kovu, realized something her father had told her years before... 'We are one'... After convincing Kovu to return to the Pridelands, they rushed back in time to see her father and Zira facing off, ready to put an end to their war.

Kiara and Kovu both took up place between their parents and brought the fighting to a close. When Zira attacked, Kiara protected her father and then tried to save Zira, but she was lost to the rapids. Kiara felt like she failed and for several days, was haunted by depression and the image of Zira in her dreams. Was there anything else she could do to have saved the lioness that Kovu called mother?

Kiara took on the true role of Heir Apparent, Princess of the Pridelands. She worked hard to help the two prides come together completely and watched as Vitani took on the role of Fiercest in the Pridelands. It was bittersweet, but her brother had been gone for so long... Would he ever return? The Pride needed the guard and she watched as the lioness did her role and picked the best. Vitani was fair, though did pick mostly from her original Pride, she looked at all the Pride.

When word spread of foreign animals coming from the Outlands, Kiara was worried and sent Vitani and her Guard ahead of them. Kiara had no plans to stay away, but she needed to speak to her father. When that was done, she and Kovu headed towards the border, only to find her brother and his guard fighting with Vitani and her Guard. She put a stop to it and reunited with her brother and his guard before they returned home. It was a reunion and a time for everyone to relax. Though, soon, the two guards had to find out who would truly guard the Pridelands. Kiara had seen something else in her brother's eye... Something that caused him to look into the night sky with sadness.

After the trials, it was deemed that Vitani was truly the Fiercest in the Pridelands. What she was not expecting was that Kion would be given a new role as part of the Night Pride's Guard, given to him by the ancient lion, Askari, himself. The Royal Pridelanders returned with Kion to the Tree of Life to attend the wedding of her brother and Rani, Queen of the Night Pride. Kiara was glad to see her brother happy and left the Night Pride with joy in her heart.
