Zazu nodded, "I shall not." he answered simply, and he had requested a secret of his own. "The fear of an attempt may be justified, especially as we plan to find more of your kind, and more arrive... but fear the conflict over the outcome."
He smiled proudly, "I try, it is my job to talk to the king and offer advice and perspective." he reminded, "If you can't walk among your subjects, you can hardly represent them as a diplomat. As well, they must want you to speak for them and respect that your declarations are the king's words."

Kabili nodded, thankful for that. He knew that Simba had a lot on his plate as it was. And he was worried telling him about problems like that would only chase him more stress. “I know... I mean there’s not a lot of arguing with a lion. I just don’t want to worry him,” he admitted. “Dad is always saying I can talk to him about anything. And most things I do. Him or mom really. But even they can’t stop the nightmares - it’s just something I need to deal with on my own.”
He smiled a little. “The important thing is I know they’re... Just that. I still wake up next to them. Wake up safe, y’know?” He explained.
That was also true, he guessed. Even if Kabili was new to all of this Zazu did seem to respect him, at least to a degree. “I’ll definitely be working on it, don’t worry Zazu. Mom always said I was a good student,” he shrugged a little. “But I’ll uh... Keep that in mind. The advice offering thing... Though I’m not going to be the one bothering you over every little thing either.”

Zazu shook his head, "Kabili." he said shortly, "There are few things that you should deal with alone, nightmares are not one of them." he claimed. "It may be up to you, ultimately, but those around you can always support you. If not your parents specifically..." he noted.
"It is my duty to advise, you are more than old enough that if you think you need advice or guidance, you certainly do. Never be afraid to ask us to make the time for you. We will handle managing the various things we need to do, not you!" he said with confidence.

Kabili was quiet as Zazu said that.
While it was clear he had some PTSD, this was before that truly became a thing so no humans thought much of it. It was just nightmares, right? Trauma was mostly a war thing he figured “I just don’t... think I’m ready to talk about everything I see in those nightmares,” Kabili admitted honestly. “It’s like I said - I went through a lot. It goes bigger than just being taken away.”
He didn’t want to say he didn’t trust them enough yet. But he had only known them a few months - he’d have to slowly learn to open up. “I mean I don’t mean to offend you or anything. Or mom and dad,” he explained. “I’m just still figuring out what it’s all about. Or if it’s even a problem.”
Right, he supposed that did make sense. He just had to get used to having multiple ears to listen to him rather than just one pair. “It’s good to know that at least,” he admitted. “I’d rather have someone there when I’m ready than not “

Zazu stepped back a little bit. "Hrrm... this is troubling, but... You have opened up to me quite a lot this morning." he said, gently easing away from the subject, while trying to be understanding, yet... not entirely let him go. "I will keep quiet of this, then. But do... be open to help." he said, careful with his words.
"I am sure it is a problem, when you are ready we can... work through it." he said, "Let us know when you are ready. Let me know." he hrmed. "We... have been here a while. Why don't we take a walk, or head to the watering hole?" he asked.
