Cycad eagerly lapped water from the watering hole, Needing a large drink after his day of traveling. He had recently found the pridelands and had decided to settle down for a little while Just to rest his paws. And take a much needed mental break as well.

He continued to lap at the water happily enjoying the refreshing taste. He lifted his head from the pool and gave a loud yawn before turning around to lay himself under the shade of a nearby tree. He stretched with a contented smile before curling up with one last yawn.

Zawadi yawn extra large after his mid-morning nap on a large rock under a nice acacia tree. The savannah was peaceful, at the moment. A herd of Antelopes were headed to the watering hole for something to drink. As he let his eyes scan the area lazily, he noticed a lion he had never met and he narrowed his gaze. Well, it was time for him to investigate he supposed.

Jumping from his rock, he moved from the seclusion of his shade and towards the watering hole, giving the antelope a smile and nod of greeting as he moved among them. The Pridelands were likely the only place that this could happen without the whole herd running for their lives. Sure, the lions still hunted them, but only when needed.

Come near the shady area the other lion was in, it was than that he realized it was a maneless, male lion and he blinked in surprise.

"Who are you?" Zawadi's deep voice was neutral in tone, but his facial expression showed suspicion. He didn't know this lion, granted he had not been around Pride Rock much the last few weeks. Since the death of his mother, he normally wandered the Prideland and return to Pride Rock when he felt okay to be around others.

As he heard the approaching paws of another lion his head shot up, His face immediately morphed into a nervous frown. While he has dealt with other males in the past it always makes him nervous especially with how aggressive some can be to him. It’s not a unique trait but it’s always a bit different from when other species do it.

He cranes his head to look over the others shoulder, He didn’t see any other lions.. He uncurled and then hefted himself up to face the other male. He question surprised him a bit but he answered with a civil tone.

“Th’ Names Cycad, And you are?”

Zawadi watched the lion as he stood and faced him. He was large as him, so was fairly large lion and he looked full grown. It was odd that he didn't have a mane, but he had heard some lions didn't have one. Still strange to him. When he spoke his name, Zawadi said it again mentally, making sure he remembered it so he could tell King Simba.

"I am Zawadi, a lion of the Pridelands," he said to the Lion, glancing around. A herd had gathered and some of the elders were watching him and the lion who was with him. "What is your business in the Pridelands?" Zawadi asked the lion, mostly because after everything with Zira and before her, Scar... It was hard to trust new lions. He was still getting us to the Outlanders returning into the Pride. A few he was very wary of.

He watched as the elders turned there gaze to him before returning his eyes to Zawadi, “A pleasure to meet you.” Cycad flashed a more confident slightly dopey smile at him. He took a moment to get a good look at the other male, a impressive brown mane from his perspective and light fur with with light brown accents.

He tuned in when the other lion spoke again, Hm. “I’m just a traveler, Not looking to do no harm or anything. Needed to rest my paws for a little while.” It seems he had missed the scent border of this territory. Though of course most lions know of the pridelands and he is no exception. Maybe Zawadi here was the new king? But didn’t his name start with a s? “Is that alright? For me to rest in this territory?”

It seemed the new lion was also taking stock of their surroundings and Zawadi watched him carefully, all while trying to remain as relaxed as possible. But, he was still a male lion, in the Pridelands, with no one else having knowledge about him.

At his explanation, Zawadi wondered for a moment. The King and Queen had recently welcoming the Outlanders back in and prior to that, it was known that guest were welcomed with a certain warning. But, it was obvious that King Simba did not know about this Lion. "You should really speak with the King about that matter... I can tell you that asking permission first is better than waiting for Forgiveness." Thinks were tense in the lands right now anyway.

He cocked his head frowning slightly at Zawadi. Go straight to the king? Does he even have time for stuff like this? “The king huh? I guess I should take it up with him then.” He turned to walk away from the conversation though at a few paces he turned his head to look back at him smiling once again but slightly shyer this time.

“Oh! And thank you for help. It was nice meeting you, I hope we can be friends.” He was cautious but optimistic Zawadi didn’t seem like that bad of a lion. And it certainly wouldn’t hurt to make some friends of his own species. He put his head forward and padded away from the watering hole with a spring in his step.

OOC Note: Sorry this took me so long! Was in a bit of a slump but I’m back!

Zawadi watched the lion in question, his head held high as the stranger seemed to pace. When he spoke about taking it to the King, Zawadi nodded. "It would be the polite thing to do... The guard will personally escort you if you are found wandering without anyone knowing about you." Should Zawadi? He was a lion within' Simba's kingdom, but he didn't know if he had the authority to do that.

At his next comment, Zawadi didn't say anything, but watched as he left the area. It was unknown if he would actually speak to the king, but it wasn't going to concern his thoughts any longer. Turning back on his original path, he continued his walk.
