The word had come...
King Simba and Queen Nala were coming back and Kiara had made her way to the savannah to greet them. She had sent word to Kovu and she hoped he would make it in time to greet them, but it was okay if he didn't. He had his own duties as the Prince Consort and she understood that.
Kiara had checked herself in the nearest spring, made sure that she was ready for the morning. When she saw them coming, she smiled and jogged over there to greet them. She nuzzled her mother, who was excited to get back to Pride Rock herself and then turned to her father. "Welcome home, Father," she said to him with a smile, happy to be able to put down the mantle of Queen Regent now that he was back. It has been a while since they left the Pridelands for the Great Summit they were supposed to attend to. The sight of Pride Rock in the very distance filled Simba's heart with joy that wasn't much left to go to arrive. Happiness mixed with concern, thoughts running in his mind because of the worrisome news he had heard in the Summit about humans popping up more and more often in neighboring territories. What was their plan? No one knew. Nala tried to reassure him all along, yet, he couldn't find peace. Heavy thoughts got forgotten as he noticed Kiara approaching them, with a gentle smile on his face he nuzzled her neck when she turned to him. Art by dyb on deviantART
"I am very happy to see you again, Kiara." He replied in a soft voice, almost whispering. Finally, Simba let her go but gave her a smile once again. "Is everything alright?"OOC: hope it's okay with you if I use small images to represent the scene/Simba's expression like this from time to time?

She enjoyed the nuzzle she received from her father and leaned into his neck as they stood there, Pride Rock behind her. While her mother headed on towards their home, she joined her father in their slower pace. It would allow them to talk. Besides, she needed tp speak to him about Sam.
"I am glad you and mother are back," she said with a smile and looked ahead at his next question. "Well, we have a visitor... Um... His name his Sam," she said as she looked ahead. She needed to make sure that she was confident in her speech to him. "Rafiki told me he is a human... We found him by the Watering Hole, injured... Rafiki set him right with medicine," She explained as they walked.
"He is kind and young... I told him he could stay as long as he needed." It was a choice she had made with a night's worth of thought prior to making sure Sam knew no one was going to ask him to leave. If it meant standing up to her father and backing Sam, she would. Simba started walking by his daughter's side, his eyes kept on the ground. The smile on his face slowly disappeared and was replaced by a slight frown as he listened to Kiara's story. He felt that weird nervousness started returning into his stomach. His fear became true... just like he had heard on the Great Summit, humans popped up more and more often and - as it seems - the Pridelands was not an exception either. At Kiara's last sentence, Simba suddenly stopped and looked at her. "What?!", he asked in a sharp tone, his teeth remaining clenched at the last letter. "You really let him stay here? Kiara! You don't even know him. How do you know he is not up to something bad?" He couldn't help but got angry because of his daughter's thoughtlessness.

The sharpness of his tone was something she had prepared for and she did not allow herself to coward down from his harshness. She stopped as he spoke and she lifted her head as she wait for him to finish his lecture and his scolding.
"Father, Sam was found by the watering hole badly injured and in need to help," she said in a calm tone, one she had learned from her mother long ago. "After we brought him to Pride rock, we took care to make sure he was comfortable and well tended... Rafiki and I discussed it further and chose to allow him to stay..." She said as she looked at him.
"It also allows us to learn about him, to learn of where he came from and to keep an eye on him," she said to him, not raising her voice, but voicing reason. "My thoughts or plans were not thoughtless or reckless, as I am sure you are thinking... But well thought out and discussed with Rafiki, Ma Tembo, and Kovu... Vitani and the Guard are searching for any signs of others, but from reports, the birds of the land have seen nothing inside the Pridelands... It seems Sam is the only one who is here in the Pridelands."
Kiara began her walk to Pride Rock. She did not raise her voice, she kept calm and collected. She was not going to allow her father to bully his way into her choices and make her feel bad about them. She felt they were the right ones. TAG: SimbaLOCATION: The Savannah in the Pride Lands COMMENTS: ^_^ So Sorry for the wait

"Currently." Simba reacted immediately. "Currently he may be the only one, but how do you know more will not come? Kiara..." The male took a deep breath here, then let it out with a sigh, his voice lowering now. "Kiara, you were not there at the Summit. You didn't hear what I heard. We don't know much about this creature, we have not seen any before, this boy is the first one. That's why we need to be careful." He started walking too. "I know humans are part of the Circle of Life but I also know that they are much more than we think. They can have much effect on the Circle of Life than us animals. They have much influence on environment. This is why I am saying, accepting an allien so soon can put the kingdom in danger." Emphasis on the last word to draw her attention.
Actually, Simba was surprised by the action of the others. How could Ma Tembo and Rafiki accept him this soon? What did they see Simba was not able to see?

Again, Kiara remained calm and listened to her father. So, other humans had been around other Kingdoms? How long had this been going on? Kiara wondered... From what Sam had told her, his kind were a great many and she had never see them before. "Well, you can explain the summit to me now or later," she said calmly and as future queen, it was something her and Kovu both needed informing on. They were an active role in the Pridelands... especially now that they were older.
"Father, what would you have wanted me to do? Leave him injured within the Pridelands with no help? Turn my bad on a young one?" Kiara asked him in a calm tone. "You raised me to care for those inside and outside the Pridelands who might find themselves in our borders and need help." The memory of a certain Opaki came to mind. He had been on the run from a leopard and the Pridelands welcomed him.
"Rafiki has been consulting with me on the situation... his times traveling have brought him in contact with humans and he has some knowledge," she said as they continued. "And Ma Tembo was not surprised by the boys appearance... during the time of Scar's reign, it might be possible that when she lead her herd out of the Pridelands, she saw them too." Kiara was mostly speaking to try and keep herself from thinking too much.
There was also another thought that came to mind... one that had surprised her and Kovu recently... The mate of Nuka and her cubs... The grandchildren of Taka... The grandchildren of Scar.

"You did very well that you helped the boy, Kiara." Simba said calmly. "You remained loyal to the spirit of Kupatana and I am proud of you for that. It extends to all creatures in the Great Circle of Life, and you as future queen set an example of how it works. But remember the case of the jackal pup's family Kion once saved. After saving them he invited them into the Pride Lands, so they could ruin our celebration. Saving someone is one thing, inviting them is another." Said the lion with gentle and mighty facial expression. "But before making any decisions, I want to meet him personally." He added, now with some seriousness in his voice. Simba glanced at Pride Rock, he got lost in his thoughts for a brief moment. He had just arrived from the consultation, he didn't think he would really meet a human so soon. "There are some worrying news." He started now talking about the Summit. "King Sokwe said that he sent his sons to visit all the kingdoms around and discover how much influence humans have on our environment. They said it's pretty big... They are never alone but mostly stay in groups and always come from enormous silver birds. They have no idea how such a big bird can fly. They are here but no one knows what their goal is. And the most worrying part... some of them have a stick that can sound like thunder. Once it does, the animal in front of the stick dies. Can you imagine that? You get killed by someone who's standing miles away from you." Simba looked at his daughter with concern in his eyes.

Kiara couldn't help but smile at the praise, even if she was remained of something not so happy. But, from her understanding, Dogo and the Jackal family had turned their lives around since Jasira took over as Queen of the Outlands. Everything was looking up for the Outlands. Which, reminded her of another... issue that needed to be talked about.
Her father was still speaking though and she listened. Sokwe was a good leader and a trusted friend to the Pridelanders. It was no wonder that Simba trusted him and Kiara trusted him and his sons. It would be them working together one day. Though, she was still wondering if they would co-reign together or would one be an advisor to the others. To be honest, Kiara was kind of interested in the two brothers futures.
"It is concerning, father... I would ask the boy that as well, maybe he can enlighten us of this stick," she sad as they walked, her eyes to the mighty rock ahead. "I do have... another sensitive topic to discuss with you," she said as she slowed her pace. "More... Family related then Pridelands, though." Not much left to arrive to Pride Rock and for Simba it was a great feeling to be home again. They had been away for only some weeks but it felt like years. While heading to their home, some animals who noticed their king was back greeted him politely, and Simba gave them a gently nod in response. When there was no animal to disturb, he and his daughter could continue talking. "And what is it?" He glanced at Kiara with curiosity. OOC: You mean Jasiri took over as Queen of the Outlands?

Kiara was silent for a few moments, her steps slow as she tried to think about how to word the story she had been told. It was best to start from the beginning... Well, maybe from after the stopped battle near the River. "You recall, back when we lost Zira," Kiara looked down at the ground as she spoke about that. It was a failure to her, she had tried and for a moment, she thought she had seen Zira consider the help... A moment of brokenness that had shown in her eyes. "Vitani sent a lioness to the Outlands... She said that four lionesses had stayed behind." At the time, Kiara had not understood why.
"They never returned to the Pridelands and Vitani had believed that they had just left... Well, a few days ago, some of the Lionesses that joined with Vitani were talking together on the backside of the Pride Rock... They spoke of four lionesses, Mwana and Namke first... Then, Inyere and Lesedi..." Kiara paused to allow herself some more time to think of her next words carefully and how to best explain this. "I did not mean to listen in, but it is hard when you are by yourself... Kovu joined me and we went and spoke to the Lionesses..."
Ukweli... Kiara mentally recalled her name. Her pelt was lighter then the other Outlanders and she had looked different. "Ukweli is an older lionesses and she told me that Mwana and Namke had been very close to Zira... But Inyere and Lesedi had come with her originally... Ukweli had led a small band of lionesses who had been making their way to the Pride lands to join our Pride... They were cut of by Zira and forced to join the Outlands or face death." Kiara recalled the flash of memory in the older lionesses eyes. "She told me that Zira took an interest in Inyere and then forced her to become Nuka's mate... Ukweli does not know how she managed that, but she did." Kiara looked at Simba and stopped her walk to Pride Rock.
"We both know, Kovu knows... Most the Pride knows... Kovu and Vitani were never the children of Scar... Taka... But Nuka, we knew was..." Kiara said to her father. She had been told by Kovu that he wasn't the son of Scar. Simba had known, though she wasn't sure how he knew about that personally. Maybe it was because Kovu had traits that were beyond Scar himself. "Zira told the Outlanders differently, except for Mwana and Namke... Ukweli had heard them speaking one night, Zira told them that Nuka was the last link to Scar... She also told the Lionesses that Inyere was with cubs and so they were the last chance for Scar's bloodline," Kiara said finally, looking at him. "We think that Mwana and Namke left with the Lioness that Vitani sent to bring them to the Pridelands... But Ukweli said that Inyere wouldn't have gone with them... She was told by Zira that the Pridelanders would likely kill them all for being in their Pride... We don't know what Zira actually told Inyere, but I am sure it included the threat of death at our paws."
Kiara knew her father was likely absorbing all of this in. "I am going to go and speak to Jasiri tomorrow, in the Outlands... Maybe she has seen the Lionesses Ukweli told me about and any cubs." Kiara was not asking for permission from her father, she was stating what her action would be. TAG: SimbaLOCATION: The Savannah in the Pride Lands COMMENTS: ^_^ Yes, Thank You

Simba was carefully listening the story he was told. He had some memory about Mwana and Namke, he remembered that they were the lionesses who had loyally chosen to follow Zira to the Outlands after Scar's death, although Inyere and Lesedi sounded unfamiliar to him, even Ukweli.
"I remember Mwana and Namke, but I don't know the others." The male spoke out loud. "No way you go there alone, especially now after the war. I am going with you." It was a determined fatherly statement that was unquestionable. Simba had a hunch that some extremely loyal Outlanders might have thought that Kiara was the cause of Zira's death in the Gorge. If they found out Kiara was in the Outlands alone, they might take advantage of the opportunity to kill her for revenge. Probably Kiara didn't think of it, but Simba did.
"And what are you going to do? Maybe you want to bring them here?"

Kiara smiled at her father in his protective nature and shook her head. "Father, I have gone and visited with Jasiri several times since we all vanquished Scar," Kiara said in a matter of fact tone. There was a lighteness in her step, a confidence that came with being the heir of the Pridelands and someone who was forging good relationships. "She is doing well along out border and I would be entering the Outlands are her territory..." She said as she thought about seeking her out first.
"But, I want to speak to Vitani about them first... I wanted to request Vitani to go with me, along with her Guard... They would have likely known Inyere and her sister, they might be able to bring her some comfort," Kiara said as they walked towards Pride Rock once again, the sun on her shoulders.
"I do... I think Inyere is worried, likely scared... I don't think she means any harm to us and from what Ukweli has said, she feared more than she hated," Kiara said to her father as she looked towards the Outlands. "I want to speak to Jasiri first about them. Maybe her Hyena's have seen the lionesses and the cubs... Might give me some insight into their situation." Simba was not glad to hear this situation, with a reluctant expression on his face he started to speak his fears out loud.
"Kiara, there must be a reason why they decided to stay in the Outlands. Yes, one reason can be that they are scared of us. Another reason can be that they still accept Zira's leadership and decided to be loyal to her even after her death. If the second reason is true, they may be dangerous as they may think that we killed Zira, thus they might want to take revenge. So, for the second reason I am seriously asking you not to go the Outlands alone from now on until we find what their real reason is. You can only go there either with me, Kovu or Vitani's Lion Guard." The firm tone he used in his voice implied that it was not just an ask, but also an expectation.
"I, too, want to talk with Kovu and Vitani to know more about these lionesses. I'm not saying they're banned, but if Inyere's cubs are Nuka's cubs as you say so, therefore are Scar's bloodline, they may make a claim to the throne. I want to exclude if they have any intentions like this first before letting them here." Simba had his reasons to be careful, he didn't want his daughter to get into trouble.
As the lion looked ahead, he noticed the Pride Rock was already close. He planned to have some rest after the long journey, but after that he was going to throw himself into his tasks.

Kiara listened to her father's concerns and looked over at him. "Well, if she was with cubs, traveling was likely more dangerous... Ukweli did not believe she would become loyal to Zira," Kiara said as they walked. At his words about going to the Outlands, she looked at him firmly. "Father, I will not show fear to anyone inside the lands or outside the lands... By forcing me to have guards to go into our allies territory, it shows we do not trust them... Jasiri has good hands on the Outlands and they have not been a threat, at least her territory," Kiara said. She was not going to be babysat like a cub.
Kiara had no issue any more speaking her mind to her father. She had been ruling these lands in their absence, keeping their relationships strong with Jasiri and the Hyena's. "Jasiri is slowly making her way to bring the termite mounds back into her control, which is why I wish to speak to her." It was true from what she had learned. Jasiri had been slowly expanding her territory out to the termite mounds, to return the whole area to their control. The volcano was the only area they had no touched, as they all still worried about the whole Evil Lion thing.
"Kovu does not know her, the lionesses were forced into Zira's pride after he left to come here during the fire... Vitani might and I plan on speaking to her about the lioness myself," she said as she looked ahead at the nearing Pride Rock. "I will be leaving early in the morning to go to Jasiri's border." It was her plans and she was not asking for permission. She was the future of this Pride and her father needed to trust her judgement.
"You need rest, I will do a walk around the savannah to check on the herds," Kiara said as she came to a stop near the trail that lead up Pride Rock. Kiara respected her father, but she was not reckless anymore, she had a good head on her shoulders and she was quite proud of how she handled things. She was careful and thought things through. Her father needed to see that. TAG: SimbaLOCATION: Near Pride Rock in the Pride Lands COMMENTS: ^_^
