Kabili had a feeling that Simba was probably trying to wrap his mind around it all.
But, in the case of what he had to say, he wasn't exactly sure what to say... Or really do. He knew that he and Simba had discussed what the world had gone through. But he really didn't know how he exactly wanted to approach this talk. Not that he hadn't been ready to do so at some point, it just had been a bit of a struggle to get to this point. But he knew he couldn't risk offending some ancient lion deity maybe, or something...
"It's nothing bad, I think. I just... What I said back there, I want to make sure it was OK," Kabili replied honestly. "It was a prayer... Uh... The spirits or whatever won't be offended right?"
He then added with a deep breath. "I mean, I don't know what their thoughts would be on, y'know... Jewish prayers. Seeing as our religions aren't entirely the same..." He wasn't sure what to expect Simba to reply with. Given he was pretty sure that Simba would remember what the Jewish community had just gone through.

The Lion King gave a nod, "A prayer?" he questioned, not in an offended manner but as if asking for the word to be defined. "The spirits? No, of course not." he said with confidence, though he truly didn't know. He just assumed and trusted that the spirits, being wise, would be above being offended.
He opened his mouth to continue talking, but paused with his mouth open instead to process. "Oh... Oh." he frowned, and pulled Kabili close to him, "You... shouldn't have been nervous about telling me." he said, cryptically, "Those terrible things you talked about were, your people?" he asked, not wanting to bring those atrocities to memory, only explain what he was talking about. "As far as... religion. As long as you respect ours, we will respect yours." he smiled warmly. "Just... be careful what you say, and to whom." he noted, "You waited this long to tell me, so I am not worried." he assured.

Oh, Simba hadn't heard of a prayer before? Maybe he should have seen that coming, but at the same time it did surprise him a little bit. Not that it was hard to explain what a prayer was exactly. "A prayer is like... Our way of talking to our ancestors, and to our God," Kabili decided to explain. "Unlike some of you guys, we can't hear them. But we believe they're there - and listen to us. If we only put our faith in them."
He did feel as Simba moved him close to him, blushing a little. Especially as the lion seemed surprised he'd keep it from him for so long. "I didn't know how you'd react. Especially after everything that's happened to your land," He explained. The parallels to World War II were of course strong. "I'm lucky, I was born in America and I didn't have to go through a lot of what "my people" did. But it still made us nervous, y'know? There were still people who thought like Hitler..."
After a moment, he paused and added. "I mean, I wanted to talk about it. But I just never could find the right times, or really the words either."

Simba gave an understanding nod as Kabili explained, "You talk to them even if they don't answer..." it was clear he admired the faith that humans could have, when most around him lacked belief in such things, even when some could hear them. He smiled, it was good to hear something good about humans, wherever it could be found. "I'm sure they are, I know your grandfather would be proud if the rest of us could have as much faith as humans." he chose his words with clear intent.
He looked Kabili in the eyes, "Terrible things have happened to both our lands." he said with a heavy sigh. He thought on things a moment. He thought on Kabili's words, about what the Pridelands, his lands, have gone through. Everything that was going on around him. "Will this be our war to end war?" he thought aloud, quieter than normal. "Kion...." he said as he looked to the west and up. "Will he be ready?" he looked back at Kabili. "Things may be similar, but even so." he said with confidence. "We can learn from your tragedy, and avoid another one."

Huh, he hadn’t thought of it that way. But he guessed that was a good point too. After all, he was sure a lot of people lost faith in the spirits after all that had happened in some ways. “I feel like Grandpa and I would have had a lot to talk about.” He admitted.
Kabili didn’t interrupt his dad’s thoughts. Even as he stated them out loud, but was interested at his conclusion. He hasn’t expected the king to think they could learn so much. “I feel like humans could learn a lot from you guys too. Ever since I got deeper into the lands I think I’ve felt like that,” he admitted. “We’ve made way worse decisions than anyone here has, least if you ask me. And you bounced back way easier than we have…”
He shook his head. “We focus too much on our differences. Not enough on what brings us together. Least that’s what my mom says,” he explained. “It’s called prejudice and racism. And it started a long time before what Hitler did to us…”

Simba nodded, "Maybe we bounced back easier, only because we didn't face as terrible decisions." he pointed out, "Still, I will keep that in mind." he smiled down at Kabili. "Yes, we are... guilty of that here. Justified in some cases, but still... the Circle of Life aims to help us feel equal." he put a paw on Kabili, "But we have places to be, I will see you later... son."
