Age: 25
Gender: Male
Species: African Lion
Homeland: Pridelands
Allegiance or Pride: Pridelands
GENERAL INFO
Personality:
Tragedy taught Simba caution, but the spirit that dwelled within refuses to die completely. Much of his life was spent in eager anticipation of what he could do next, of the things that would make him happy. It fed into his impulsivity and tendency to be quite adventurous and out-going. Simba still retains the boldness that had him proclaiming he was king atop a tower of animals as a cub, that had him embracing the lifestyle of Hakuna Matata, and that inevitably helped him back to his true home. Despite the time he's spent as King, Simba still doubts himself. Even knowing that the death of his father wasn't truly his fault, the years spent believing that he was the reason his father met an untimely death wrecking havoc on Simba's sense of duty. He yearns to be the King his father was, compassionate and warm but with the firmness needed to do what needed to be done to protect the pride.
But Simba also knows, despite his fears and his reservations, that he will do what is needed because his father, his pride, have faith in him. Now that he is a father, he understands the fear of something happening to his child, and strives to make the Pridelands a place that his daughter could grow up without worry. He is cautious, far more so than he was when he was young, and that cautious has bred a tendency to be firmer in his decisions.

History:
Hakuna Matata, that was the phrase he had adopted after leaving the grief of a muddied past behind, and he had thrown himself into it whole heartedly. Of course, the truth of Simba was more than just a phrase and even in the depths of his time with Timon and Pumbaa, he knew there was something more out there for him. The truth was, Simba was not an ordinary cub, nor was his upbringing. Simba was born to Mufasa and Sarabi who ruled over the Pridelands with a grace and ease that he had been enamored with since the moment he could understand the idea of ruling.
He was a rowdy cub, always trying to go off on an adventure fit for a King, convinced that to become a good King he needed to be brave. Needed to prove that he was brave. It tended to cause strife between himself and his official royal babysitter Zazu. Often times he would drag his best friend Nala on those adventures, though more often than not she was as much an instigator as he was. He was constantly goaded into those adventures, wild and more dangerous each time, by his ever unimpressed Uncle Scar, leaving Simba to finally make the unfortunate trip to the Elephant Graveyard. After losing Zazu, Nala and Simba made their way to the graveyard where they became awed at the massive bones that littered the place.
But danger waited for them, in the form of three hyena's that might have killed them had Simba's father not intervened. It was the first time that Simba was introduced to the truth of being not only a King, but a father too. He learned that his father wasn't the fearless leader he seemed to be, but weakened by his own fears as well. It was a sobering, awakening, moment for Simba, and one of the treasured moments with his father he wished would have lasted longer. He hadn't realized the plot of his uncle when Scar took him to the gorge, not even after the stampede, not even when Scar told him to run as he mourned over his father.
And he didn't, for years. He believed he was the cause of his father's death, that he alone was the one to blame. Simba tried hard to forget, being saved from inevitable death by Timon and Pumbaa and given a new life in some far away jungle. Though no matter how hard he tried, he still found himself thinking of the life he left behind. Constantly plagued by memories that tried so hard to draw him back to the life he had left. Fate, or perhaps the Kings of Old, would not let him and one day Nala appeared out of what appeared to be thin air. Hungry and hunting Pumbaa, it wasn't until she'd pinned him that he recognized her.
Then, she told him about what was happening in the pridelands. That Scar had taken over, had let the hyenas in, had over-fed and now the pridelands were desolate. At first, Simba refused to come back, fear striking him so hard that he was determined to run from it once again. Rafiki, the wise old baboon, managed to stop him. To show him the truth, that his father lived within him, that his father was not really gone, and that if Simba wanted to be close to his departed father again, all he must do is return to the home that needed him.
So SImba did, purging Scar from the Pridelands after the older lion admitted that it was he who killed Mufasa. Taking his place as King of the Pridelands was one of the hardest things that Simba had to do, the responsibility suddenly so clear, and so terrifying, but he knew that if he didn't that the pride would suffer. Life was slow to come back, the first rain the day that he removed Scar was the first of many and the green was slow to grow again. Eventually the herds started to return as the grass grew back and the waterholes refilled, and Simba restored as much balance as he could by removing the Hyena's back to the dark edges of the Pridelands.
Too, he sent those loyal to Scar to the Outlands, knowing that those that supported the late King's rule would only bring contention and danger while Simba tried to establish his own rule. He could do little else, or face another fight when those loyal to Scar sought to rise up again. Nala became his queen, and cubs followed soon after, leaving Simba not only a new King, but a new father as well.
