(1) Since Simba got separated from his mother and the pride relatively soon, then joined Timon and Pumbaa, he didn’t have the opportunity to be taught on how to hunt. In the jungle he was fed on bugs. Later, after he returned to the Pride Lands and re-united with Sarabi and the lionesses he could learn how to hunt properly as he got lessons from them.
(2) When Kion became leader of the new Lion Guard, at the beginning Simba was unsure about if he was ready at all, thus he mostly took on the tasks himself not letting Kion and his guard prevail. Over time, Simba started handing these tasks over to the Lion Guard giving them a chance to prove themselves.
(3) Simba first met Jasiri when Kion introduced her to the family. Simba was not happy at all, what’s more, he became very angry and even forbade Kion to contact Jasiri and her clan. He didn’t want to see any hyenas in the Pride Lands again. Simba and Kion had long arguments about it, Kion always trying to convince him that Jasiri was following the Circle of Life but Simba didn’t believe that. However, as time passed Simba realized that Kion was right, he started accepting Jasiri and revoked his judgement. This is what we can see in the episode “Battle for the Pride Lands”: Simba is alright with Jasiri being friends to the Lion Guard.
(4) Simba doesn't like formalities when he is expected to stand out and speak in front of lot of people, always has nervous stomach when he has duties like this, even almost makes him wish he wasn't king.
