Personality:
Imara's role of being Vitani's strongest in her Lion Guard is well fitting. She is not only strong in terms of body, but also mind and personality. Imara has shown herself to have a strong, iron will and is quite tenacious, never being one to back down from a challenge nor being easily moved when her mind is set to something. She is stubborn and firm, always standing her ground and shares the ferocious fearlessness so common among the Outlanders that joined Simba's pride. She loves a good fight and a good challenge, showing to be extremely competitive as much as she is overconfident and cocky, sometimes to the point of underestimating her opponent.

Nevertheless, Imara's fierceness hides a more reserved, stoic lioness beneath. She much prefers to speak few words and is surprisingly quiet for all her strength, usually being one of few words and preferring to watch rather than speak. She has a preference for smaller crowds and close friends, but can be relaxed and easy-going around those she is familiar with, being much more open and chatty once she relaxes. But, when the time calls for it, she can be extremely focused and stoic, putting aside emotion to focus on a task at hand of which Imara does so when performing her duties as part of the Lion Guard.

History:
Not much is known regarding Imara's family. She is aware that her father was a wandering rogue of some kind who mated with her mother for a very short time before moving on, but she was born sometime in the Outlands of which those who had supported Scar's reign resided with her mother as one of them. Due to this, Imara was part of the generation that grew up only hearing about the times before them so never saw the True King for herself.

Instead, Imara grew up with Vitani, their friends, Nuka, and Kovu hearing twisted stories of what had happened to Scar and that their predicament was all a result of Simba. Naturally, Imara was resentful of the Pridelands due to this, more so when she barely had enough resources to thrive and grow properly as she needed to. Much of her younger days were spent in the caverns beneath the giant anthill they had come to call home, often play fighting with her friends, including the daughter of Zira Vitani. Though there was little to eat, Imara was always on the stockier, bigger side since she was a cub, proving herself to be one of the strongest of her generation even to the point she could probably have put Nuka in his place or Kovu.

But, as she and the other cubs grew, their harsh life only got more so. Zira was desperate to see Simba and his Pride overthrown, and when the insane lioness hatched a long-term plan to use Kovu to get to Kiara and therefore eventually "join" the Pridelanders, she pressed for her pride to train longer, harder, and faster. This included herself and the younger lions. Zira wanted them strong, fit, and ready for when the time came. So, Imara did just that, training her body to the point of pushing her limits, sometimes more so than anyone besides Zira's own cubs. 

During her adolescence, Imara was taken among the older lionesses to begin learning more combat and hunting skills, improving upon the training they had essentially been doing. These hunting parties included stealth and sneaking, most often along the borders of the Pridelands as well as scavenging from what remained of the hyenas once under Scar. Imara loved the thrill of taking what should have been rightfully theirs, savoring the better meals they occasionally got when she could swipe some for her own. But, soon enough, Imara often found herself in hunting parties with Vitani, Kasi, Tazama, and Shahaba due to the fact the five lionesses worked so well as a team long before they would ever become the new Lion Guard. This continued for some years until the time came to enact Zira's plot, only able to wait as Kovu went about worming his way into Simba's favor.

Life went on until Vitani brought disturbing news that Kovu might very well have turned traitor to the plot. Infuriated, Zira planned an ambush, taking some of her strongest with her including Imara to the Pridelands and attacking Simba while implicating Kovu being part of said ambush. Though unable to kill the Pridelands' king, they still dealt a terrible blow that saw Zira eventually deciding it was time they act. Kovu exiled and Kiara missing, there was little choice. Imara went with her pride mates to the Pridelands during a nasty storm, taking part in what would be the final battle and finding herself locked in combat with another lioness from the Pridelands. But, as soon as the battle started it was put on hold with the timely arrival of Kiara and Kovu, their words striking a cord among the Outlanders and Pridelanders alike, causing the two to return as one once again. Although, in her crazed state, Zira was lost to the flood waters in the canyons below the fighting grounds, freeing the Outlanders from her hold at last.

After this, Imara was chosen by Vitani to join her Lion Guard as its strongest member when it became clear Kion's own would be gone for sometime. In her new role, Imara carried out her new duties without fail, determined to do better beyond the lies they had been fed. Least, until the day came when Kion and his Guard returned, causing a misunderstanding among the groups that nearly led to disaster with Thurston, of which it was suggested a contest was held afterward to determine the best team. After a few trials, Vitani's group won out and Imara officially became the new Strongest in the Pridelands, having since continued to carry out her duties.
