Baliyo
Nicknames: N/A
Age: 18 years
Gender: Male
Species: Lion
Homeland: Tree of Life
Allegiance or Pride: Night Pride
Custom title: Prince of the Night Pride/Night Pride Guard
GENERAL INFO
Personality:
Before the events that brought Kion and his Lion Guard to the Night Pride, Baliyo was a different lion in his younger years. In fact, he was a great contrast to his sister, Rani, being far more carefree, easy-going, and reckless than her more serious nature. He has always been cheerful and somewhat hyper, always having a cocky grin and showing a great deal of pride for his skills and strength. Most of all, Baliyo was your typical adolescent, trying to prove himself and jumped into a situation without fully thinking of the consequences, showing himself to sometimes be reckless and overconfident at times.
But, time has matured this young lion. Baliyo is still very much an out-going, cheerful young male. He is never without a friendly smile or grin, and has always shown to have a kind, considerate heart especially when it comes to helping others or his family and Pride. He cares deeply for the safety of the weak and endangered, and is quite supportive of those around him. He can be laidback and easy-going, being someone who is quite easy to talk with and vent to, occasionally giving out advice if he can or inquiring more so someone gets out all their stress. He is surprisingly grounded and mature, being steady in handling situations than when he was younger and being thoughtful and a little more cautious. He is still somewhat reckless, but tries to think before he acts much more unless angered.
That being said, there is no question that Baliyo is extremely fierce in the protection of his home, his pride, and what remains of his family, showing himself to be dedicated and hard-working. Just as much, Baliyo is dutiful, carrying himself with some authority and pride of a prince. Though he does not run from his problems as he use to, he still shows a difficulty in facing them head on, sometimes bottling them up until they explode. He can still be quick to anger and has a harsh or firm tone when he needs to, but he is certainly not cruel and mindful of going overboard. He may not share Rani's deep wisdom and natural leadership, but he is willing to lay his life on the line and is known to be a tactical minded and quick witted fighter with a penchant for only being slightly less reckless.

History:
Biliyo was born and raised at the Tree of Life, being the second born to King Sahasi and Queen Ananda and born after his older sister, Rani.
He recalls his younger years at first being full of fun and life, playing about the territory with his parents, his sister, and grandmother, while often being paid visits to by Surak. Things were peaceful, and he recalls always being a happy, out-going cub, living a good loving life without no care in the world. But, things would change when he was still young, losing both of his parents during trying times when they sought to protect the secrets to the sacred Tree of Life. Like Rani, Baliyo was still a young cub when news reached them from the remaining members of the Night Pride at the losses among others. Such news struck Baliyo hard, finding his life never the same and soon taken under the care of Janna, their grandmother.
Under her guidance, Baliyo was taught the culture and duty of the Night Pride, and why they sought to fight so hard for this massive tree that lied at the heart of their territory. The Tree of Life was like no other in the land, holding a power few could understand or was reserved for those who ruled the Night Pride of which at the time was Janna who was also teaching Rani the duties of her future as Queen. When he was an older cub, Baliyo took the initiative to begin learning to fulfill his own duties as Prince of the Night Pride, learning royal etiquette, their history, as well as beginning to learn how to fight early on, primarily from his uncle Surak. During this same time, Baliyo was raised closely alongside his sister, becoming one of her biggest supporters and vice versa, the two being extremely close and helping each other to improve in their duties well into their adolescent years.
By this time, Baliyo grew to be quite large and broad in stature, being taller and longer than his sister and was already a formidable warrior. This was shown when Kion and the Lion Guard first set foot on the Night Pride's territory, immediately jumping to attack those he thought were invading the territory and seeking to take the secrets of the Tree of Life, Baliyo personally confronted Kion in a short fight before he was blasted away by his Roar of the Elders. Left dizzy but otherwise unharmed, he was taken care of by Normal and Surak, agreeing that Kion and his group should not come to the Tree of Life initially. In the weeks that follow, Baliyo and the rest of the pride gradually get to know and accept the Lion Guard, Baliyo even introducing them to his best friend, Binga, whom he has known since he was a cub and has been friends with since. Life only got more exciting with the Pridelanders around, Baliyo taking part in protecting his home as well as taking on the army created by Makucha in revenge against the Lion Guard.
After several weeks however, things get to a point that though the Pridelanders are welcome to the Tree of Life, his grandmother Janna also eventually reaches a point her spark of life is dying. The loss of the old lioness struck Baliyo hard, the young male crying when she joined the ancestors, and found himself even more saddened when Kion and the Lion Guard had to leave due to an emergency back home in the Pridelands. The losses lingered for sometime for the young prince, who found himself forever changed by his experiences in those few months and pushing himself to step up to do more for his pride. Eventually, things would settle and Kion would return to the Night Pride sometime later, officially becoming the mate of his sister and the king of their Pride of which Baliyo greatly approved of. Feeling Kion had more than proven himself a worthy mate to his sister, Baliyo proudly watched the two becoming married and coronated as the new leaders of the Night Pride.
A year later, Baliyo has become a strong member of the Night Pride, one of the Guard's best fighters as well as one of its most fierce protectors. He had greatly matured physically and mentally, and is content to where his life has gone so far and what it will hold.
