Personality: Amara takes things like duty and honor very seriously. She's less concerned with what she wants personally than with what is expected of her. If she's given an order, she will do it, even if it goes against her moral compass. She might argue a bit, find reasoning if the initial logic escapes her, but most of the time 'because I said so' is good enough.

Only if said orders come from the royal family though! She won't just follow anybody's command. Her self worth is entirely tied to the royal family's opinion of her. Everybody else can kiss her furry butt, and that includes the Lion Guard! Amara wouldn't be outright hostile, of course. If anything, the words passive aggressive would be more accurate.

Only when it comes to orders and the chain of command though. Outside of that, she's a perfectly pleasant lioness to be around. Not to hot and not too cold, not overly friendly but not asocial. Amara won't go seeking adventure or conversation but certainly won't turn away from it if somebody comes up to her.

She had a need to prove herself. Ever since her sister left to join Zira in the Outlands, Amara has felt like all eyes were on her. Waiting for her to mess up or waiting for her to leave. And now that the Outlanders have joined with the Pridelands, she isn't sure what to feel.

History: Amara was born in a litter of two at the very beginning of Scar's reign in the Pridelands, only a little younger than Simba and Nala. Her father had been a random traveling rogue who had agreed to father Abdula's cubs.

Her cubhood was filled with fear. Fear of the hyenas who eyed her hungrily. Fear of losing her mother. And fear of Scar. Scar TERRIFIED her. He always had those three hyenas following him, groveling and flattering him. If he wanted, he could order to eat them all, and they'd happily obey.

In contrast, Adeera thought he was the greatest thing since honey covered antelope. She was just as terrified of the hyenas as Amara was, but Scar's control of them fascinated her in a way it didn't Amara. They both grew up keeping their heads down and obeyed orders, though from vastly different perspectives.

When Nala disappeared, Amara feared the worst for her. When she reappeared with Simba however, and Simba overthrew Scar and all the hyenas left, it was like Amara saw the sun for the first time. Finally, there was hope! Finally, there was a light at the end of the tunnel!

She'd expected Adeera to feel the same way, but she was wrong. Adeera thought Simba had come in and straight up murdered Scar, despite being the rightful heir. The two sisters argued more and more, though always in quiet seclusion. When Zira was banished, Adeera was one of the ones to leave with her.

Amara was distraught, and it felt like all eyes were on her. She'd never really describe her relationship with her sister as CLOSE, but they'd always been together. Amara wasn't sure what to do with herself now.

It was even worse because she felt like she had eyes on her. It felt like because her sister defected, they expected her to defect too. But Amara was LOYAL. If she was going to leave she would have done it with Adeera! So though things were infinitely better under King Simba, Amara found herself doing what she'd always done: keep her head down and follow orders.

The day eventually came when Zira's pride and Simba's pride met in battle, and Amara was face to face with Adeera. Zira must have brainwashed her or something, because Adeera attacked straight away, no hesitation. They fought, Adeera at full might and Amara only enough to not die.

Then Kiara and Kovu came in to stop the fighting, Zira died, and the two prides became one once more. After so long, it felt like Amara didn't know her sister anymore. But she's looking forward to getting to know her again!
