"Why are you still after me? This ain't the Pridelands anymor'!" The hyena growled out, being chased down by a smaller lion cub. What a shame! But if one only knew what that lion cub was capable of, one would also run as fast as possible. The uneven terrain around narrowed in some kind of three-way canyon! Kion was gaining terrain... But that was exactly what Njaa wanted. He went through the three-paths interception and screamed as he went from South to North: "NOW, FURBRAINS!" And, in front of the lion, a large boulder fell. Blocking the path between him and the hyena, blocking the North path!... but that wasn't all, no. Another bolder quickly joined the first on the ground, from the place Kion came from, blocking the South path. "Nghhh... NFFGGHWHW!" To the Northwest, from the top of the canyon, an unnamed hyena grunted and puffed, pushing against a rock. "It's too heavy, Njaa!" To which the hyena boss, already running away back to his turf "Then forget it! Just get out before he roars or somethin'!" And the hyenas fled from the scene.

"I need to make sure you won't come back!"
The answer came as a loud growl while the lion ran after the spotted, larger hyena. This was the third time today! He chased him to the border; then the hyena returned as soon as Kion turned his back. Did he really think this would work?! "I'm telling ya! Stay away form the Pridelands, hyenas!" And speaking about hyenas... where were the rest of them? Kion was right in the middle of a three-way intersection in the canyon when a large boulder fell in front of him. He had to throw himself back to not be squished under the rock. That was close! And then one blocking the path he came from!
The noise from he top of the canyon made it clear Njaa set this trap up! But the last boulder didn't hit the ground and, Kion found himself in a weird position. In front of him, the path (probably) leading to the hyena lands was bocked. On his back, the path back to the Pridelands was also blocked. To his right, the East, just the unclimbable wall of the canyon. And, to his left, the West, an open path towards the unknown.
"Just don't come back!" He growled out, even if he was sure the hyenas had fled already by their footsteps alone. Kion was alone, and he was... well. Lost in the eoutlands. Without a path to take, the lion cub followed towards the West. He should be able to find his way out of the Outlands, how hard could it be?
Too bad he didn't know he was on his way to Zira's lands.

"I don't need a cub trying to protect our territory, y'know," drawled Vitani as she approached from behind the fledgling.
An ear flicked and she shook out one hindleg, the one gauntly brown with dust. After her first attempt trying with that zebra a few days ago, she'd been having to drag it along the earth, much to her irritation. Dark eyes narrowed at the Simbaspawn. Ugh, he looked disgustingly reminiscent of the Pridelands king. Disturbingly, just about.
But not quite. He was much more frail, with fat overly-brawned out muscles that just looked.... plainly out of place considering his neat abdomen. Vitani found herself having to suppress a chuffing snort.
"You're looking far too pleased with yourself, Simba wannabe," the lioness snorted, upper lip quivering away from her fangs. "I easily could have taken those cackling mutts out."

Kion heard the steps in front of him before the other feline appeared, and that got his guard up. Eyebrows down, his steps going slower and silent, almost completely silent.
His facial expression changed to a boy scout smile as soon as he noticed the steps came from a lioness! He was expecting an enemy. He almost didn't notice it was a lioness cub, alone in the outlands.
"That is my job! I have to protect our pride and the Circle of Life!" He said , sitting down in front the lioness. He seemed much happier now. "What are you doing alone here in the Outlands? It is not safe"
Her expression was off. Kiara's friends might be almost as insufferable as Kiara herself, but this lioness was certainly looking displeased with Kions presence, more than his own sister!
"So could I. They were running from me!" He said with a fierce bur prideful growl. It did sound rather playful tho! "I look like him because he's my dad! I'm Kion! I don't... think we've met!"

She quickly shoved away the urge to scoot back a bit, nose wrinkling, as the breathing odor came to sit across from her.
Her brows crowded together, plastering over her physiognomy a rather hypercritical expression. Mother of gods, did all Simbaspawns smell this terribly? First there had been Sam, who'd honestly smelled a bit more human at the very least. Kion just plain reeked. But on to the point.... "I live here in the Outlands," she explained emotionlessly. Well, why should she exhibit that much emotion? The Outlands were her home -- they always would be. Simple as that, honestly.
"Anyway...." Vitani stirred the dirt with a paw. "Chasing away those hyenas will never be the same as killing them. If you want to truly rid of them, just kill 'em." She shrugged just then. "Because you know as well as I do they'll only keep comin' back, should we allow them to live. But... the name is Vitani, and I'm Scar's and Zira's daughter." Her chin tilted a bit skyward then with pride. "Ooh. Simba's gross... He murdered Scar," she said forlonly, proud to be echoing her mother's constant words.

Kion gave a concerned look when the lioness spoke about her home. "That can't be right" he argued. "The outlands is no place for a lion. The Pridelands are a home for all lions and lionesses!" And the smile was back "It is a much nicer place than here. Where everyone can live together as long as they respect the Circle of Life!"
And rhe next couple of words she uttered made the lion choke on his own saliva. "I-I can't!" He said rather loudly "I am not eating them, so I can't kill them! They don't deserve to die just because they haven't learnt their lesson yet!" Kion spoke up.
"You are... w-what?" And he blinked as the implications of what she just said were elaborated in his mind. "I... Scar didn't have any children. I don't know who your mother Zira is, but he was my dad's uncle, and everyone said he didn't have any cubs with anyone" Were they really telling him the truth? Was Vitani?
"He didn't murder Scar. Scar couldn't step down. He lied, he destroyed the prodelands. He had to be removed by the legitimate king!" Kion seemed rather passionate about that. It was the lion who bugged his dad's sleep after all.

"Ugh. Biased much?" Vitani flicked a notched ear, claws flexing into the earth beneath her paws. "Of course you'd automatically assume the Outlands are bad, you've never lived here." Goodness, Pridelanders could be so intuitive sometimes.... "Sorry. I'm not looking to hurt anyones feelings. I just... The Outlands are where I truly belong, and I can't be convinced otherwise.
"And I suppose you have a point." A slight, lopsided grin pulled at her maw and her eyes diverted from Kion's. "He isn't biologically my father. Not even adoptive, really...." Honestly, she'd rather not talk about it too much. She still missed the guy.
Leading onto her next comment. "Sure, but... He could have taken it into consideration. Scar meant a lot to some people. He... was still like a father to me." Her shoulders sagged.

The implications... oh the implications. If Scar was this cubs dad, then she was... his aunt? Kind of? What a weird, weird concept. It was like the whole 'uncle Bunga' thinf all over again. No. Kion had to avoid those thoughts.
"Then..." the red-mane's head tilted to the side as Kion asked in a confused tone "... how was he your father?"
Kion noticed it was a sensitive topic. Even if the lioness apparently couldn't stand being around him, he still cared enough to go silent. And it struck him: she was... Older than him. She must be older than Kiara if she knew Scar!
"The Pridelands are much different now. They are lush with green and birds! Water everywhere and plenty of trees to give us shade!" The lion spoke, trying to convince her "I could show you as soon as I find my way back to the Pridelands!"
