Timon chuckled.
That was true, and it had taken him a bit to come to that conclusion after all. And a lot of failed relationships with girls that he just did not feel it with. But still - he crossed his arms. “I guess that’s true. I’m just a sentimental ole meerkat sometimes. Wonder what it’d be like to have a little Timon Jr. running around.” He joked. “Maybe we’re better off not knowing if Bunga is anything to go by.”
Never accuse but definitely think it he figured. As he finally reached the spot he’d remembered seeing that human. “Ah here we go,” he pointed to the small grotto he’d been lounging in. “It was right here. And he came from like... Somewhere over there...Ish.” He said as he motioned toward the north
“Least I think it was a he,” he explained. “Sounded like a he.”

"Honestly...", Nala thought as she spoke and while following Timon, putting the words as best she could, "Bunga strikes me as a very good example of what a Timon Jr might end up like", she smiled, "Brave, energetic...all that".
And yes, annoying, talkative, all that too!
They neared the spot and Nala crouched lower, stepping forward and searching, though as she thought, there were no signs to be found anymore. She sighed, "I don't know what I was expecting fresh tracks or something, of course it wouldn't be that easy".

Brave? Him? Timon almost found it a little funny. But at the same time, he did get that a lot ever since he’d helped Simba take back the Pridelands. To him he was just helping his kid in any way he could - but to everyone else it had taken some guts he guessed.
“Yeah, I’m trying to do my best by him at least. Kids braver than I ever was though,” he snorted. “Back in my day back home? I would never have done half the things he did.”
Timon tapped his lips as she mentioned not seeing anything. Sure, nothing that a lion might look for. But someone close to the ground like him? He approached carefully, taking a careful look around before he found something. It was small, metal thing (a lighter) and while Timon couldn’t be sure it definitely didn’t look like anything found in the Pridelands.
“Huh, looks like he might have left something behind after all, your majesty.” He pointed out as he held it up.

"And thankfully for him, honey badgers have immunity, though probably not the kind Bunga believes they do", Nala smiled kindly but, again being truthful about Kion's friend, an unknowingly correctly predicting a problem the little honey badger would have.
It was lucky Timon was here, for with his closer vantage point to the ground he spotted something. Nala walked over and peered at it. "What's that?". Like she expected Timon to know, though the meerkat may have ideas, for right or wrong.

Timon chuckled nervously.
But his mind had moved away from the kids and to the little... Alien thingy. Tilting his head, he scratched his chin as he tried to think what the lighter was... Which was... “uhhh isn’t it obvious!? It’s obviously a...” Timon was cutting himself off every second. “Crap, I don’t know. Maybe if I click this thing here.”
That’s when he made the mistake of flicking the button.
Whoa! Was that fire? He jumped back as it clicked off again. Surprise in his eyes as well as horror. “What the heck was that!?”

If Timon had read through her vague We're still figuring that out, Nala now read through his stalling. Not that she could blame the meerkat, it was a perplexing item. She leaned nearer and sniffed, her sensitive nose picking up...well she wasn't sure what the scent was either, but it sent off bad warning signs.
"Uh Timon, maybe...".
To late, he pushed something and fire shot out, but with no sign of lightning and not from the sky! Nala jumped back as well, swatting at the thing as it looked like it would catch on a bit of the grass about. It hurt her paw a bit, but not too bad, she felt.
"I...I don't know", she bent to sniff at it again. Should she take it to Sam? He would surely know what it was, but it was clearly dangerous also, so she didn't know about carrying it across the Pride Lands. She looked around. "Timon, is there some water we can drop it into so it can't catch again while I tell Sam of this?", she asked, unaware she was asking the meerkat if she could have it further invade his spot of the Pride Lands by moving to their watering hole etc.

Timon was still heaving.
What the heck was that thing? Had that come from humans too? Well he already knew the answer considering the poor meerkat had never seen anything like it before in his life considering he wasn’t just some little spring chicken anymore.
Some body of water? Timon looked up, a part of him wanting to say no. But also knowing the kid would want to see this. Heck, Simba would too. So he finally nodded. “Yeah, let’s bring it to the little watering hole that way,” he pointed directly north. “What do you think it is? How does something like that just make fire?”

"I just don't know about carrying it all the way across the Pride Lands and in case it does that again", Nala explained, perhaps unnecessarily, but she caught Timon was not happy about his own bit of territory being invaded by the thing any further.
"I don't know...", she answered thoughtfully as the meerkat asked what it could be. "The way Sam talks about humans...they're capable of a lot but...I wouldn't be surprised if this stumps even Rafiki". Maybe magic and such things like this and instant fire were a primate thing.

That was true.
One wrong snap of that thing, he assumed, and there’d be an out of control fire. Which was not something he intended to be dealing with today. “That’s fair. I guess they’re not as primitive as the monkeys though,” he explained. Well not to seem uppity, but they definitely had nothing like this. “Like I get the feeling it’s not magic. It looks like something someone built. But I’ve never seen a rock like that. It’s so shiny and hard.”
When he’d reached the little grove where he intended to toss the thing he stopped. “But this is what I meant about the big ones,” he explained honestly. “The cub doesn’t scare me. Especially if you and the furball trust him. But what about the full grown ones? There could be more of this.”

"No, they seem very different than the other baboons and such", Nala admitted. Even before seeing Sam's spear, the queen got the idea that building was also a human thing.
There was a line between honesty and strength that royals had to walk. You didn't lie about your capabilities, but you also didn't panic your subjects by admitting that you had none of it under control. The larger humans. Yes...the idea of them did intimidate Nala quite a bit if she was being honest.
What they were perhaps capable of seemed bigger than Scar and the hyenas even. "Yes...", she admitted, but not to all of these thoughts, "we may need Rafiki's guidance more than ever in the coming days".
She still felt it was nothing the Pride Lands couldn't face, and they'd faced trials before.
Once it was dropped safely into the water, she turned back to Timon, "Come on, let's go tell Simba and Sam, or that's where I'm going". She realized Timon didn't have to come, but also left the offer open if he wanted to.

Oh god, they needed to talk to the mandrill.
That part made Timon roll his eyes inwardly, the thought of going to that nut job for anything always made him laugh inwardly. How was he even helpful? Either way, he would trust Nala’s judgement on this one. “Hopefully he isn’t cryptic like usual,” he explained. “He probably already knew this was coming knowing him.”
Timon was thoughtful as she invited him to let Simba and Sam know. A part of him wanted to go, but another part of him had much to think about. Especially after the information overload. So it was probably best to leave that to the Queen. “Sorry your majesty, but I have something I need to be getting to,” he didn’t have an excuse but oh well. “Tell Simba I’ll be around soon though. I promise. I just got some stuff to take care of...”

Nala chuckled softly, "I don't think even Rafiki saw all of this coming". She was honestly not too surprised by Timon deciding to hang back, the Meerkat had done a lot for her, bringing her here and showing her these strange human items as she had requested and she was grateful.
"I understand, Timon, and thank-you for your help", she said before heading off and to see if Rafiki did have anything he could share.
