Robert sat as still as he could. Having fled a seemingly flat part of the savanah in his panic. Though the ground had soon settled and no after tremors seemed to erupt he gently sat himself on a nearby rock. Heaving slightly with shaking hands he gently uncorked his water canteen and took a few hesitant sips. Trying to ration his water. After the plan had seemingly crashed he woke up alone and without the rest of the team. With untreated wounds and a throbbing headache. At least he has manes to scavenge a few things. Including a hunting rifle though he only had a limited number of bullets. He clutched the rifle to his chest as he capped the canteen.
His pulse had now slowed slightly and he got up cautiously. Picking up his things and trekking on. One thing was for sure and that was he was hungry and frightened. Though he was trying to at least keep somewhat of a composure. He knew that he would run into a animal sooner or later and it may lead to him being mauled or finally getting something to eat. It didn’t help that his taller stature made him stand out even amongst the savannah grass.

Sam needed some time to think everything through.
There were humans in the Pridelands. And they weren’t just the expedition. They were there long before that… Who had thought the legends were true? Moreover he was still thankful that his initiation was over so as part of the Pride officially he felt less like an outsider.
Maybe it was weird he identified more with the lions now, but so what? Tarzan had been based on a real person too!
It had been one of his cub friends who told him they’d seen the human first. Sam had panicked, wanting to find out who it was before he gaged what his next move was. Did he bring them to Simba? A part of him said it should be the other way around before letting actual adults see the whole truth.
Either way, he was relieved when the young cub lead him to Rob. Thank god, a zoologist and not military. That was a start. At least he thought so as he poked out from his hiding spot finally. “Mr. O’Bryan, is that you?” He decided to ask.
He was sure to approach carefully. After all, he didn’t want to spook him.
