Allegiance or Pride: Pridelands
Custom title: Queen of the Pridelands
Nala is an example that with age comes maturity and wisdom. Nala is a lioness who is a stark contrast to her who she was when she was younger, being mature, responsible, and much more easy-going than in her younger days but is no less sharp-tongued and sarcastic at times. She can have a biting tone at one point yet offer a gentle, nurturing attitude the next. Overall, she is a caring lioness, willing to listen to the word of others while offering her own advice where she can. Yet, she is no less playful and adventurous, often times joking with others and playing with her friends, family, and pride.
Yet, one should not take this kindness for granted. For all her kindness, Nala is equally as fierce and firm in her decisions and her words. She is not afraid to speak her mind or vocalize her thoughts, sometimes even against her own mate despite being King. She contrasts to Simba in being more open-minded and encouraging, but is no less protective and fierce as her mate, expressing a deep loyalty to her family and her Pride. A nurturing type who will fight tooth and claw for what she loves and believe in, Nala is every bit the leader as her mate and offers a balance the Pridelands need to thrive.

Nala was born and raised in the Pridelands, resulting from a union of an unknown male lion and Sarafina. Both met at some point after Nala's father was saved by a previous Lion Guard sometime when her parents were cubs and he decided to stay for sometime but left before Nala was born. Regardless of this, Sarafina stayed with her pride and raised Nala in the Pridelands, at some point agreeing to betroth her daughter to the crown prince who had been born roughly the same time.
Throughout her earlier cubhood before Scar's reign, Nala was an adventurous, quippy, and out-going lioness who often spent much of her time around the other cubs, especially Simba. Before she knew anything of their betrothal, Nala and Simba quickly became fast friends to the point one was rarely seen without the others, seemingly glued at the hip. Naturally seeming to gravitate towards being best friends, the two spent their days carefree and exploring the Pridelands whenever they could, getting into all sorts of mischief and trouble much to their parents' dismay at times. However, their last adventure together involved visiting the elephant graveyard, being convinced by the young prince it was a "Really cool place" and with some pleading had their moms convinced they could go. After dodging around the subject and ridding of Zazu, the two made a break for the forbidden place.
Awed by the sight, the two barely took two steps before the major domo caught up, trying to herd them back to the Pridelands. Unfortunately, the three were cornered by the hyenas Shenzi, Banzai, and Ed with the intent to make a meal out of the cubs and Zazu resulting in a pursuit around the graveyard until the arrival of Mufasa. Furious over being disobeyed, Mufasa escorted the three home before having Zazu take Nala to her mother, Nala offering a final glance back at her friend. This would be the last time Nala would see Simba "alive", hearing the news a few days later that the young prince and the king were lost to a stampede in the gorge. Though Nala herself had been grounded at the time, the news horrified and saddened the young lioness, nuzzling into her mother's leg and shedding a few tears for the loss of her friend. To add salt to the wounds, Scar likewise announced his stepping into the role as king and beginning of a new era for an alliance between lions and hyenas of the Pridelands.
From that day, Nala was forced to grow up quick, spending her adolescence and some her young adult life learning from the lionesses of the Pridelands how to hunt, fight, and defend herself as well as squabbling with the hyenas. Fear and frustration began to set in among the lionesses, finding a split followed in the group for those who despised Scar and others who adored his reign such as those under Zira, a favored subject by the self-proclaimed king. As time passed and she aged, Nala became more vocal against Scar's reign as well as one of the few brave enough to venture outside their territory to seek food as it became more and more scarce and the land gradually died. But at the same time, Nala also sought help outside the Pridelands, trying to seek favor of someone chasing out Scar, his supporters, and the hyenas, but to no avail for sometime. As fate would have it however, Nala's arrival to the jungle home of Timon and Pumbaa would result an in unexpected find: Simba was alive!
Shocked at finding her best friend was in fact alive after all this time, the two had a much needed reunion that likewise proved to be a blossoming of their romance. But, their reunion became bitter sweet when Nala brought Simba up to speed of what happened in the Pridelands, attempting to appeal to the lost prince to come back home that resulted in an argument between them when Simba vehemently refused to return home. Though this changed when Timon and Pumbaa inadvertently informed Nala that he had returned to face Scar, causing the lioness to become overjoyed and took the two with her to the Pridelands where a fight broke out on both sides once the truth came out of what recalled happened that day in the gorge.
Once Scar had been dethroned permanently the hyenas were chased out, peace returned to the Pridelands. In the years since, Nala has become a mother to Kiara and Kion, as well has seen the changes to her home from the Outlanders being brought back into the fold after the death of Zira, her son becoming a leader of the Lion Guard before eventually becoming the king of the Night Pride alongside Rani, Kiara's marriage to Kovu of whom she greatly approves, and having long settled into her role as queen. The years have been with its ups and downs, but Nala has stood strong and ready for the changes as they come.
Now, a recent shift in the balance of nature has happened with the arrival of two legged mysterious creatures to their Savannah home...
