"Silence!" The King snapped abruptly at the hyenas with harsh tone. The fact that they had attacked his mother and good friend in his own territory made him angry enough to not tolerate any empty chatters. Thanks to the Great Kings he could arrive in time... Simba was angry with Sarabi and Sam too for sneaking out during the night, however, it was anger of worry.
"If you don't leave in 3 seconds..." Simba growled and leaned closer to the hyenas' head, making them decide to run away before the fight would continue. He then glanced at his mother and Sam with frown questioningly, probably Sarabi could percieve it and that's why she immediately gave him explanation.
"Mother," Simba walked up to her, his voice was now calmer, and gave her a nuzzle. "It is not wise to ramble near the border of the Elephant Graveyard, especially during the night. Why did you come here?" It was a question for both of them.

Sam watched the leader who wanted to argue more….
But he was hurt, and he could tell he was in no place to go up against a fully grown lion. So with a snarl their way the trio took off. At which point Sam sat down and examined his wounds carefully. Thankfully he hadn’t been bit or worse.
When Sarabi seemed to take the blame, Sam shook his head.
On one hand, Sam was afraid of the reaction. But on the other hand, Simba had never lied to him. As such, he would do the same. “It was my fault, your majesty. I snuck out tonight because I was curious about the night life,” he explained. “Sarabi was just making sure I didn’t get myself hurt. I guess I didn’t really know how dangerous this area was… Some of the other kids had talked about it and I was just curious.”
It was the honest truth on the subject. “I can already tell you I’ll never make that mistake again.” He explained. “But I would never let something bad happen to Sarabi. That’s why I fought back. He tried to hurt her and I just… I couldn’t stand by.”

"I hope so! No more sneak outs during night for you, not ever!" Simba used a sharp tone when he talked to Sam, he was angry with the human cub. By his decision he had caused much trouble. Thanks to the Great Kings Simba could arrive in time. However, he was surprised at his mother that despite her age how could she be so reckless... Sam is young and greenhorn, but Sarabi? Giving history lessons during the night near the Elephant Graveyard?
The lion let out a long sigh, and with that sigh Simba also let his frustration go away. His friend and mother were alive, and this was what mattered to him. "Let's go home." He finally offered.

Sam could feel Simba's anger.
A part of him was prepared for it... Was he going to get kicked out? Honestly, on one hand, Sam expected that he would be. After all, he had done something that Simba probably wasn't too happy with if he used that tone. But on the other hand, he also had hoped he wouldn't screw this up for the upteenth time... "I know, I'm sorry Simba. I screwed up and I get it," Sam began to speak again with. "I'll just -."
He stopped when Simba simply said they should go home. To both of them... Wait, Simba wasn't kicking him out? Sam had to stare for a moment, as he'd been so used to people taking screw ups as signs he was a lost cause. Not to mention, it was the first time anyone had called Pride Rock his home. Maybe it was the relief in Simba's voice, or maybe it was just his gut feeling. But there was a shift in Sam in that moment.
For the first time, someone hadn't given up on him with the drop of a hat.
"Right, uh, home... Yeah, good idea," He rubbed the back of his neck. Then turned to Sarabi. "I promise to be more careful if you teach me again... Honest. I think I've had enough excitement tonight to last me a lifetime anyway." He bowed respectfully at Simba. "It won't happen again your majesty, I promise."
If anyone looked at Sam, they might have noticed the look that said he was still going over this in his head.
