GENERAL INFO
Personality:
Safara lives up to the meaning of her name, both in appearance and in attitude. She is a fiery lioness, having a deep ambition and sassy attitude. She can be blunt and harsh in her words, respecting those who prove their worth and turning her nose up at those she deems a coward. Battle hardened and iron willed, Safara can be crude and blunt, sometimes coming off as rather gruff and hard to get along with. The only thing that seems to break her solemn coldness is battle and training, of which she shows a hidden joyfulness and more laid-back, eager personality. Yet, sometimes she gets a little too overzealous in regards to battle to the point of being bloodthirsty.
All in all, Safara is not afraid to show her dark side, showing herself to be rather chaotic and cold. She is a lioness that is not particularly trusting, always being guarded and keeping others at arms-length, only ever accepting someone's help if they prove their combat prowess or for her own ends. She prefers manipulating and acting to get what she wants, especially an unsuspecting pride or an individual. She can be wicked and sadistic, enjoying the sight of pain of others especially by her own paws and shows little other emotion.

History:
Safara doesn't exactly look like most lions among the current prides, not even in the Night Pride. This comes from the fact that Safara herself is not native to these parts of the Savannah, coming from the mountain areas of the Savannah Desert.
This young lioness originally hailed from a nomadic, desert bound pride that were rich in colors of russet, dark browns, and tawny colors, with the former being considered a bad omen. Her mother, Jelana, was somewhat spared from being chased out of the pride due to her fur color being a reddish tawny and not quite qualifying for russet color. However, her mother was a rebellious one, and instead of following tradition of being betrothed to someone within the pride she found a lover in with a rogue. A short romance resulted in Jelana being pregnant, giving birth to Safara who was immediately regarded as a bad omen to the pride due to her unusually darker russet fur. Yet, the only one who truly seemed to love her was her own mother.
For much of her life, Safara struggled to find her place in the world. When her own pride wasn’t bullying or shunning her, there was the harsh life of the desert that forced her and other cubs to grow up faster than usual. From an early age, Jelana taught her daughter how to fight and hunt, to use the sands and ever changing winds to her advantage. By the time of her teen years, the night became Safara’s true ally. Her darker coloration allowed her to go undetected more easily, and the lioness knew how to avoid looser areas of sand before she struck her targets.
Even then, her use of the night was still barely acknowledged by the pride.
By the time of her older teen years, the young lioness had had enough of being the pride outcast. Always being passed over with their betrothal ceremonies as well as forced to do things alone or with immediate family, she decided to run away during one of their resting stops. Slipping by the night guards, the russet lioness ran away further into the desert, never to be seen again by her former pride and knowing she would break her mother’s heart. But, she took quite easily to the rogue life, knowing how to survive in the harshest spots in the Savannah. Slowly but surely, Safara trekked her way towards new territory, fighting or occasionally working with other loners and wanderers, and tangling with other creatures along the way, earning her scarred appearance as it is today.
Recently, the russet lioness found herself in the Outlands, finding it a nice change that the desert wasn’t entirely filled with lions, but other creatures as well. It is here that she has decided to call home for the time being, but may yet prove to be a thorn in someone's side.
