The cheetah's eyes glimmered for a second. It had been a while since she heard the word "hero." She couldn't remember the last time someone called her that, as it was often the entire Guard or just Kion receiving that kind of praise. Fuli had learned a lot of humility over the years, but she still couldn't help feeling all happy inside when receiving praise. "Yeah, I guess I am," she murmured quietly.
Fuli quickly snapped out of it though, looking down at the shiny red figure in the human's little... thing. She blinked confusion. The images looked kinda like the paintings in the old Lion Guard lair, but more vibrant and colorful. The human looked like a primate, maybe painting was more common in their society? These paintings didn't seem as faded as the ones in the lair, and had a lot more detail. More defined lines, sharper contrasts, and random white clouds covered in strange symbols strewn about everywhere for some reason. Everything seemed more exaggerated, and sometimes downright silly, like when big, jagged, brightly colored blobs would appear in the background for seemingly no reason. There were odd markings everywhere, and she had no idea what they meant.
But with the human's description, she could make sense of some of it. It actually wasn't so different from the paintings she'd seen before, as far as visual storytelling went. The figure was running, legs stretched out, so fast the very lightning struggled to keep pace. Behind him was a blurry reflection of himself. It reminded her of how others described her speed.
She briefly mused how the story could have been written down if it wasn't real. The humans probably treated paintings somewhat different in their culture, maybe someone just had it come to them in a dream or something. She also had no idea how an accident could make anyone faster. Besides, the human in the painting looked like he still had all his limbs.
"What kind of accident? Being born?" joked the cat, a sly grin crossing her muzzle.

Sam was a little amused by the look she seemed to give.
Honestly it was kind of funny to watch the cheetah marvel in it at all. But then again, he was sure that this whole thing was new. Maybe they had cave paintings, as he'd seen the ones that Rafiki had done. But did they have full stories like this? Sam wasn't entirely sure yet - but he was sure the longer he spent around the mandrill he'd get the idea. "Pretty neat, huh? I used to collect these," He explained. "I have all kinds of them too. There's Batman, Superman, The Flash, oh... And the new guy, Green Lantern. He's pretty cool too."
Being born? Even Sam snorted a little bit at that too. That was a good point, he wondered if he could even explain superpowers without using human terminology... Probably not. "I mean, that could be one way," He added with a sly grin in return. "... Actually I don't even remember what the accident was. Something to do with molecules and stuff I think. Hey! Maybe they blended his DNA with a cheetah. You may have competition."

Fuli blinked confusion again. The human terms like DNA and molecules were completely alien to her. Maybe it's magic, she thought. Speed magic. Wouldn't be the weirdest thing she'd ever seen. That would probably have to go to the tornado roar.
"Well, whatever magic he's got going for him, I doubt it's enough to outrun me," said the cheetah confidently. "I've never met an animal who could run faster than me, and I've met a lot of animals."
She paused for a second, thinking about what Sam said about his little picture stories. He mentioned some other legends like The Flash. Did the humans have their own Guard? Wouldn't be the first time she'd met some other pride with a knockoff version of her team. "Who are those other heroes you mentioned? Batman, Superman and Green... Leader?" she asked, ears raised with curiosity. "Whadda they do? They a team or something?"

Interesting.
Never met an animal faster than her? On one hand, Sam believed it. But on the other, he also had a feeling there were other animals that could probably clock faster. Or at least other cheetahs. Not that he was about to bruise Fuli's ego by telling her that, that would have just been mean. "I don't think I've seen one faster than you either," He then added. "If there were it'd definitely have to be another cheetah."
Green Leader? Sam had to give a chuckle at that. Though she did bring up something interesting. A team? Sam had never once thought about the idea of if they had all teamed up. "I don't think they've ever teamed up actually, but that would be really cool!" He explained with wide eyes. "I can't believe no one's ever thought of that."

Fuli had actually met some other cheetahs before, but that was a story for another day. Speaking of stories...
"So I can probably guess what 'Batman' can do, but what about the others? 'Superman' is pretty vague. I mean, I'm super fast, but you wouldn't know it if I called myself 'Super cheetah,'" she joked. The feline sat down on her haunches, facing outwards at the surrounding plains, which actually made her slightly taller.
She thought it was a little weird how fast she warmed up to this new arrival. Part of it was probably how much he was feeding her ego, and the other part of it was mostly curiosity about the story of his little... thing. Stories were never worth much to Fuli unless they were either really interesting, or she was the one making them. In this case, it felt like a bit of both.

Super Cheetah.
Sam had to laugh a little at that one, already having a feeling that he would have to explain a lot. But not in a bad way. In some ways he had a feeling it could be cool to tell these stories to the Pridelands greater sometime. After all, he imagined that maybe kids in the Pridelands would find them just as crazy and cool. "Superman is like... The total package. He can fly, run the world in 20 seconds, shoot beams from his eyes..." Sam made a few motions as he mentioned all of this. "... Actually, it's easier to list what he can't do. But he's cool."
He thought about Green Lantern... "Green Lantern has this thing called a ring on his paw. And it can bring his craziest thoughts to life. Like he could create a whole heard of Cheetah's if he wanted to... It's pretty cool."

"A herd?" asked Fuli. "It'd have to be a real small herd, 'cause there's no way you'd ever get more than three cheetahs to tolerate each other for more than a minute. But hey, I guess that is a 'craziest thought,' huh?"
She paused for just a moment, her tail twitching slightly at her side. "So what do they do with their power?" she asked. "Eh, probably some generic hero thing, like protecting herds of idiots from equally idiotic illegal hunters. Or flash floods, or water shortages, or whatever else kills things where you come from."

So Cheetah's didn't tolerate each other normally? Huh, that was interesting!
He was a little more impressed that she actually made a correct guess about what the superheroes did. Huh, he guessed it wasn't that hard to figure out with the hero thing though, on second thought. But all the same, he did find himself mildly amused by the fact that a Cheetah was able to make these assumptions. "Basically, yeah, to varying degrees," He explained. "It's sort of interesting to me. I'd mostly want to have fun if I had powers."
AS he mentioned this, however, he realized that the sun was starting to go down... Damn, had they been out there that long? Apparently so. Standing to his feet, he stared at Fuli. "Well, this has been fun. But... I probably should get going before it gets much later," He explained. "I don't know what kind of danger even comes out at night."
