As Zawadi shared his analysis of the situation, Fuli's expression remained stoic and cold. But anyone could tell she was worried. This amount of blood loss couldn't be good, and if this was several hours ago, he could already be dead by now. And Zawadi was right, he would have been taken to Pride Rock. The last place Fuli wanted to be. Because it was full of big, angry, xenophobic lions. Kion would probably be alive, his royal family would see to that. Now, the problem was staying away from the prying eyes of that royal family, who'd be keen on knowing why Kion wasn't with the rest of his Guard. Which would lead them right to her. Something told her this little secret wouldn't stay that way for long.
Trying to stay away from that whole subject, Fuli padded in the direction Zawadi indicated that Kion had come from. He had left a scent trail behind him, though it was old and fading away, so where it came from wasn't clear. It went somewhere towards the Outlands border, that was for sure. "Kion was patrolling near hyena territory," she said grimly. "If they messed him up like this, they could still be out there. I'm going to go find those mouse-brains. You can go back to Pride Rock or something."
Fuli paused for a moment. "If anyone asks, I'm a lion," she added quickly.

Zawadi was worried, Kion was the Prince of the Pride Lands, he was one of the leaders of the pride, though he was still young himself. His eyes landed in the direction of Pride Rock, which could barely be made out on the horizon. There was a dilemma... Did he return or stick around and help Fuli, the fastest of the Lion Guard. It made sense to him to help, especially since he was hoping that Kion would allow him to attempt to become the strongest.
He had always been larger than other subs, his body was a bit bulker and he was known for being able to easily wrestle with others. But, Kion could easily say a elephant was stronger or another large animal. Glancing to the skies, he wondered what the Great Lions of the past would think of him as the strongest.
As she spoke about the area Kion had been patrolling, he nodded in agreement. "I'm coming too... Kion is the fierest and you are the fastest... But this wasn't done by one single hyena... This was done by a pack... You might need help." Zawadi was not going to stand back and watch Fuli go to the border without some kind of back up. The best thing to do now was report to Pride Rock, as the hyenas had probably gone elsewhere by now. But Fuli wasn't interested in doing that, and Zawadi seemed to agree. She'd rather he simply went home and did his own thing, but as long as he wasn't in the way it shouldn't be that much of a problem. Besides, it eliminated the possibility that he'd run off and tell someone about her. Not immediately, at least.
"All right, stay close. If we find those hyenas, let me do the talking," she said. Something about her tone of voice suggested she didn't intend to do much talking, especially not with the hyenas. With a swish of her tail, the cheetah strode off towards the path down the cliff she'd come from. This time she took the trail at a slow jog, which looked like a sprint by any other animal's standards, but Zawadi would probably be able to keep up.
Upon reaching the bottom, she set off in the direction of the border. If for some reason the hyenas had decided to stick around, they'd get what was coming. If they were gone? Well, maybe she could delay the inevitable a bit longer then.

Zawadi stuck close to Fuli, keeping a level eye on the land around them as they descended to the ground below the cliffs. Though he knew his family would want him to head home, he had no interest at the moment. He wanted to help if he could and if he ran back to Pride Rock, well that wasn't helping the Pride Land, that was running from the danger.
As they headed in the direction of the border, he kept up with Fuli at her slower pace without issue. He kept his nose to the air, sniffing and searching for any sign of Hyenas. But so far, what scent he did pick up was faint and nearly gone due to the age of the scents.
"Since Simba and another were near Kion when this happened, they might send more lions this way to strengthen the border..." Zawadi said in concern for Fuli. Though he would be open to the idea of a Cheetah on the Lion Guard, he knew others might not. But, it made sense to him... Most Cheetahs were faster than lions, it was rare to find one slower than a lion, unless they were injuried. TAG: FuliLOCATION: Leaving Mekunda Cliffs in the Pride Lands COMMENTS: ^_^

Fuli continued along, eventually slowing her pace to a trot. She didn't look back at Zawadi very often, maybe once or twice during their trip. Or talk. The rest of her time was spent looking all around them, scanning the horizon for any activity. There was none. All the more reason to keep looking.
Zawadi did make a good point. Others may very well come looking soon. But she was certain she could elude detection if need be. She'd be able to spot any other predator first, then sprint off and vanish into the grasslands.
She was worried for Kion, although she tried not to show it. Among all the lions, he was probably the nicest one she'd met. He didn't seem to care in the slightest that Fuli was a cheetah, and he genuinely cared about all the animals of the Pridelands. It'd be a shame to see him die so quickly after they'd met. Fuli wanted to see him, even if he was already dead. But he was at Pride Rock, and no matter how she wanted to see her friend... Okay, she hadn't ruled out the possibility just yet. But it was a tough decision.

Inyere, along with Chedo and Lesedi, were making there way back to the cliffs, in hopes to check the border and the status on those Hyena's whom had attacked their Prince and Leader of the Lion Guard. As she got near the cliff, the scent of a lion she knew to be young rose to her nostrils and she rushed quicker to the cliffs and then found the scent.
Her brother also was on edge and searched along the scent path until they came upon the two young animals. One was a Cheetah, whom she could tell was still a young cub herself. While the other was a young cub that she knew as Zawadi. Though he was much larger for your average cub, he was still a cub.
"Zawadi, what are you doing here?" Inyere asked calmly as both her brother and sister came up beside her and glanced towards the Cheetah. They all gave a respectful nod to the young cheetah, though Inyere was concerned for most for the young cub. "Why are either of you here... This area is very dangerous, there was an attack not far from here against Kion," she explained without going into detail. TAG: Zawadi, FuliLOCATION: Mekunda Plains in the Pride Lands COMMENTS: ^_^

Zawadi searched the area, but continued to find nothing except for the fading scent trail. As he lifted his head, he caught movement and gulped when he saw the three older lions coming there way. He turned to looked at Fuli with some concern and took a step in hopes to block her enough to hide the mark. Though he knew of Inyere, Chedo, and Lesedi and knew they were good lions, he didn't want them to look down upon a Cheetah for being in the guard.
As Inyere spoke, the way the nodded in respect towards the cheetah made him let out a sigh of relief and then he listened. "Well, we were over in Ndefu Grove... We heard a roar, but I didn't think anything of it until I saw Lesedi run past me and told me something was going on... So, we headed this way... We found Kion's blood up there on the cliffs... So, we were searching for where it started and followed it," Zawadi explained to the older lioness and her siblings, hoping they would understand that he was concerned for his friend. Fuli was busy scanning the horizon off in the distance, so much so that the lions from behind actually managed to catch her off guard. Dumb mistake. Her head shot around to face the trio of lionesses that has approached her and Zawadi. Oh, great. More company. She decided to stay quiet as Zawadi explained the situation to the trio. Why they were here was a mystery to her, although there were some possibilities. They might have come for the same reason she was here, to make sure that angry mob of hyenas wasn't making a counterattack. Or it could be a coincidence. Either way, she didn't feel like dealing with them right now.
The cheetah nodded at Zawadi, grateful for his explanation. For some mysterious and completely unknowable reason, when Fuli explained things to animals, they usually had a bit of a problem with her attitude. Who knew why? But anyways, best to stay quiet and hope these three would soon go on their merry way.

Inyere looked at the cub and than nodded to his explanation. Taking a glance at the cheetah, something seemed off about her and she leaned a little to see the mark over the guard upon her shoulder. Well, this was interesting indeed and she looked at Zawadi again before looking at the Cheetah.
"The King would like to see you, young cheetah... Though, I would very much like to know your name, if I may," Inyere asked with a very respectful voice before she looked at Zawadi. "And you should come to, Zawadi... It would be best if you allowed Chedo and Lesedi to check the border." They were older and stronger than the two cubs before her. Though she knew Simba was likely not going to like the whole situation with a Cheetah being on the Lion Guard, she had already been marked.
"Come along, both of you," she said to them, nodding to her siblings to continue towards the border. TAG: Zawadi, FuliLOCATION: Mekunda Plains in the Pride Lands COMMENTS: ^_^

Zawadi looked over at Inyere whens he spoke and swallowed a little when she mentioned the King. Had Kion mentioned he had the guard chosen? Maybe he had let it slip? Zawadi glanced over at Fuli and gave her an apologetic look. Nothing they could do it seem.
Sure, she could run, but then he would be taken to Pride Rock and told to tell the King everything. That would likely not go over that well with anyone. When Inyere told them to come, he looked at the ground and then nodded, beginning to follow her towards the direction of Pride Rock. Fuli was about to turn around and go on her way when Inyere brought up the king. Immediately, the cheetah's ears perked up in alarm. The king of the Pridelands wanted Fuli? Specifically? Well, she was on the Lion Guard, but how could he have known that? Did he? "Maybe he asked for someone else. I'm Fuli, did he say my name specifically?" she asked, clearly trying to find some way to evade this summons. This lioness and her friends seemed nice enough. They hadn't tried to rip her throat out yet, so that was a plus. But if the king was requesting her presence, nothing good could come of that.

Inyere smiled at the young lion cub, though she admitted, he was larger for his age. He would be a good addition to the warriors one day or even the guard, if Kion so decided. Then, she looked at the cheetah and let out a sigh, though was still friendly with her. Everyone had a place in the circle of life and cheetahs were good hunters.
"He requested if I found a member of the Guard, I was to bring them to him... You have the mark... Please come, young cheetah... I think it is best for everyone," she said calmly, stepping aside to allow the cheetah to join them on the walk. Uh oh.
Kion had been wounded in action, that much was certain. The king wanted the Lion Guard, presumably to consult with or assess the effectiveness of. Best case scenario? Kion was still conscious and alive, and ready to defend her from the inevitable onslaught of prejudice the king was sure to throw at her. Worst case scenario? He wasn't, and Fuli would be forced to face his wrath on her own. But what was she going to do, run away? Wait around and hope for the problem to resolve itself? Hope that nobody else would come looking for her now that they knew her name and what she looked like? No. Like it or not, flight wasn't an option here. And while she wasn't as good at it, Fuli felt she could hold her own in a fight. If it came to that. Which it hopefully wouldn't.
With a resigned sigh, she padded over to the lioness' side. "All right, lead the way," she said dejectedly.
