Makucha had been working on this admittedly slow plan for a while now. Of course, it was the best way to be undetected, and he loved being one step ahead. That said, there was a problem with the plan. A brown problem with a timid smile. He grumbled just thinking about him, as he paced further past what should be the line between the Backlands and Pridelands. That was phase one of his plan, test the limits and take what they are too scared to fight for. "He's just like them..." he grumbled aloud.
No, the reputation that had spread was not his own. His ploy with Kion failed, they weren't scared... and this Yun Mibu was softening them toward leopards! He couldn't have that. He grumbled, but his talking to himself was interrupted by a noise. "Who's there...?" he asked, unknowingly his curious tone would fit with any misconceptions the creature was having about him, as did his looking around.

Timon wasn’t usually in the Backlands.
But, Simba had sent him to try and befriend this Yun Mibu character. So what the hay? He’d heard that he was sort of a nomad so when he’d not found him near the Pridelands he’d gone looking the other place he’d known leopards to hang out in.
So that’s where he got to - well - this point. Sheesh was he cranky or what? The sound of him asking who’s there almost sounded too annoyed. “Hey... Yun Mibu right?” He asked as he shouted. “Finally! The king had me out lookin’ for ye wayyyy too long.”

Makucha approached he meerkat, who was sure behaving strangely. He walked right up to the potential predator! He grumbled, stunned briefly when he heard the name he was thinking of. This meerkat had learned quite the opposite of fear... friendliness. At first he wanted to scare him off, but he thought better... first smirking then smiling.
"I'm, Ye-, yeah I'm Yun Mibu." he answered, turning his bungling on the clouded leopard's name to timidity. "Looking for me? W-what for?" he asked, trying his best to not be confident, exaggerating the timidness. He approached Timon, and sat down, paws in front of him. It took great effort to put himself in this silly position, but he hoped it made him look as non-threatening as that brown friendly leopard did. "Who are you? I was expecting the bird..." he would get at least some information about Timon from this ruse.
Later, he would deal with repairing their bad reputation, for now he would work against the clouded leopard's!

Man, this guy was timid.
What the heck was wrong with him? He was a frickin' meerkat, it wasn't like he was a puma or something! Sometimes he would never understand big cats, or humans... Yeah, you could add humans and their weirdness to that too. But honestly, who could blame him? Everyone thought they were weird! "Eh, don't get so worried! His majesty just thought I needed something "to do" for a little while," He said in air quotes. "I'm starting to think he just wants me to stop giving the new prince my brilliant ideas. Probably."
The bird? Oh god, he'd been setting this guy up with ZAZU? What was he thinking? "Oh boy, you're in for a real treat! Bird brain is a real pain in the nads," he explained. "But you today get Timon, the professor of fun!"

Makucha brought his face down low, to get a good look at the meerkat, doing his best to not let his tongue be too loud when he licked his chops while behind Timon. "Worried? Why would I be worried?" he tilted his head as he moved back, having more difficulty returning to that pathetic, 'friendly' posture afterward. He naturally perked up at the word 'treat', but his ears moved right back down when Timon mentioned 'fun'. Great. Could he keep this act up for long? He was in this far, and he could always find something to do.
"Ha. Bird brain." he said, doing his best to act silly, and at the same time dumb. In fact he was thinking of what his plan was. He wasn't going to just play along and hope he learned something, no... he opted to flatter the meerkat some to buy time to think. "Oh, yeah he can be sometimes. A bit rude." he shook his head. "His majesty." he fixed his eyes on Timon's to resist the urge to roll them, "Wants us to have fun?" he made sure his eyes softened to sell this next bit. He was definitely washing his mouth out later.
"Ooh, like frolicking with the zebras?" he asked, doing his very best to sound interested in frolicking, even more than the real Yun Mibu would be. Yes, they were dumb enough he could get them to hate that brown leopard... but he didn't want to sound too focused, so he forced a smile and thought of another suggestion as well. "Ooh! Or do you want to play in the trees where it's nice and quiet, just you and me?" he gave a big, and closed smile. "Oh, I suppose you have plans for us already, right?" he said. He'd acted interested in playing, now what was the meerkat inviting him to do? He kept his smile as long as he could, but within five minutes he'd have to go back to looking shy to avoid scowling.

Why wouldn’t he be worried? Wasn’t this guy supposed to be trying to integrate into society? Then again, maybe he had confidence because it had been happening often lately? He didn’t know. “I guess there’s not much to be nervous about anymore. You’re hardly the only one getting used to new stuff,” he pointed out rather politely. Or as politely as Timon could. “And honestly if a hairless monkey can learn to hang around lions? You’re good.”
Frolicking? Ew! What were they! A couple of girls? A part of him was ready to just laugh, but the other part knew to be as polite about it as possible. “Nah, no frolickin’,” he explained. “I was thinking we’d start out in my neck of the woods actually. It’s wayyyy more laid back than the main area his majesty rules in.”
He motioned. “So uh, follow me. Or somethin’.”

The leopard knew that Timon's idea of 'fun' would be just as grating, especially if he acted to as nervous as this pitiful Yun Mibu was impersonating was. He was a leopard that knew how to have fun, acting like the worst leopard he had ever heard of. He was pleased that they spoke freely of the hairless monkeys. It seemed Yun Mibu got to talk to the leaders at that. Excellent.
He did his best to look nervous about talking to the lions, and relieved when Timon explained where they would be going. Though he wasn't pleased, hanging out far from the lions? That wasn't very useful at all. Laid-back though, meant he the meerkat might have loose lips. He was satisfied enough to keep the act. "Oh, well that's good." he smiled slightly, he hated smiling with his teeth behind his lips, and it was harder to pull off for him.
He could tell Timon wasn't used to this, which explained how he wasn't suspicious either. "Right behind you." he said, making it sound happy to hide his usual sinister way he would say those words. He despised playing with his food, and this one wasn't even going to end up his food, however... "I didn't know meerkats lived in the woods." he figured Timon didn't mean his words literally, but if he could find out who lived where... this might be a fruitful act indeed, to find out what land could be part of his expanded menu. "I'm still learning where everyone lives." he forced a chuckle. "But I think everyone knows me now." He knew that to be false if Timon fell so easily for the ruse, but it might make Timon act different, and would at least make him feel bad for being the last, and that would make Makucha feel good!
