Kabili held up his hands. “No no I think the jacket is fine, mine was just bright red. It was a walking predator Target,” he explained point blank. It was a true statement - how had he gotten through that for so long.”Plus it takes getting used to. I felt really exposed for the first few days. But I mean all the animals are nude so...” he chuckled.
Ha! Of course they had, he didn’t imagine anyone outside that witch Zira would actually actively ignore the circle of life. “It’s pretty important at least to the lions,” he explained. “I studied a lot about that.”
Oh! Of course Kabili wasn’t offended, he honestly felt as though it was pretty crazy to think about all of this. And on the outside looking in, he probably looked a little nuts. “Nah don’t worry about it. I literally sound like Tarzan I know,” he said. “Except it’s even more nuts since it’s a lion Pride.”
Oh god he hadn’t even thought about that! What if they hadn’t actually encounters the other animals? What would they do to explain. “Yeah, god forbid they end up pissing off the Outlanders especially. They’ll literally eat them.” He added.
But speaking of adults and guardians. “So uh... Where’s the leopard anyway? Did you get separated?”

"Yeah, though in all that wandering I remember thinking you would probably be easier for us to spot if any of the others were around and depending where we all ended up...not that it happened that way", and for either of them, though they had both been found, just not by the Expedition.
"Hmm, I guess it's not like other kinds of studying and actually worthwhile to learn". Though those basic survivals tips from her dad had worked too, but like most kids or teens she meant school. Wow, he wouldn't have to go to school again, or traditional school. Lucky, and again while she figured out what she would do exactly.
"Outlands, I do recall that. Even in the section where everything's individual territories, Yun Mibu said it was best avoided, quite the reputation, they must be particularly mean or something, are they?". Now that he was a lion prince she figured he had to know, right?
Speaking of which...
"Yeah, more than I meant to", she realized and said, "I mean I left him for a bit but didn't know I would be going this far into the Pride Lands I was just...", she paused, then grinned sheepishly, "Ok, I sound like the others, buying into tales...I heard there was a golden zebra around and was looking for her, but only found that other one...Thurston", and after how he'd acted she of course sounded disappointed by that but kiddingly.
"He was hanging around nearby but...the border makes him nervous, he heard jackals aren't allowed in the Pride Lands and worried about leopards...come on you'll understand when you meet him, and if you want, I know where I left him", she grinned and jogged back that way.

Kabili listened.
Honestly it probably should have been easier for them to spot. But thankfully, he hadn’t been spotted by anything. Or at least if he had no one had said anything or done anything. “Well the lucky thing I learned about being in the Pridelands are the laws anyway,” he explained. “They don’t eat Cubs as a rule. We’re protected by my dad’s laws. Think it saved my life.”
Haha that was true! “Yeah, learning here is so much better than school. Heck, I’m even going to start learning other animal cultures,” he perked up. “It’s like I’m keeping up mom’s work.”
Mean or something... That was one way of putting it, that much he was sure about. “They’re not the friendly types. They were outcast either by dad or my grandpa. Simba’s bio dad I mean,” he explained. “But the main one to worry about is Zira. First time we met she threatened to kill me. She’s kind of scarier than most animals.” He shuddered.
Ohhhh a golden zebra? Man he wanted to see that! But maybe it was just a tall tale, he didn’t really know. Were leopards allowed in the Pridelands? “I mean I don’t think they live in the Pridelands. But dad never said anything against them, unless you’re this guy named Makucha,” He admitted rather honestly. “Not like jackals. I think they were a bigger problem. Leopards are just a Backlands thing.”
After all, if he felt uncomfortable, he could always get help. Most knew him by now - and vice-versa he assumed as he jogged off,

"That is good", she agreed about the Not Eating Cubs rule. Should help her out as well, and even if they were both in that adolescent stage perhaps. She wasn't about to argue her maturity too far and if it kept her in a Don't Attack or Eat group.
He caught that she had meant school, and not that it had been all that hard, perhaps, to connect the dots. Still, she grinned. "Wow they have their own cultures? Maybe I should sit in on one of these sessions and see what it's like". Though now that she said it, that was implying a lot and did bring up a point...
"I guess at some point I should also check with your new dad that it's alright for me to be here and wandering around". Sure as Bili had said he counted so far and for right now, but she probably would need something like official permission.
Her smile softened as he spoke about continuing his mom's work. She got that. Her Pilot Determination was partly to continue her own dad's legacy, in a sense. And because it was always what she'd wanted to do. "Yeah...Imma do the same, well not with animals, with flight, and again still working on how".
Crashing from a plane into the jungles, it had been hard not to think of Flash Gordon serial comparisons at least a bit, and as something to put irony and humor into the situation and to keep her going, but the more Bili talked about these alliances...
"Wow, sounds like Mongo politics is easy compared to this...sorry", she cut the comic/superhero talk though thought she recalled that he read comics also. "Avoid Zira and the Outlands, got it".
Yun Mibu was apparently just being too hesitant, no surprise, and Tara was eager to tell him it would maybe be alright for him to come and go in the Pride Lands too. With Kabili following she went to the borders where she'd been before to look, finding him even hesitantly putting a paw on and then back off what was probably the boundary, no doubt about to be bold and for her.
Aww. Touched as she was by that she moved on to reassuring and starting off introductions. "Yun Mibu! Here I am! I didn't get eaten, don't worry! I just met back up with my friend Sam, uh, Kabili", she gestured, "Kabili, this is Yun Mibu".

His ward had disappeared. As a clouded leopard, used to taking care of just himself, having a ward was a bit new, but Yun Mibu knew he was the sort that even if he ever found a mate and produced cubs, he couldn't just leave all the duty to his mate as was custom and would check in often if nothing else, so of course had to make sure the young human was alright and while she had no others to do such.
She'd gone into the Pride Lands. Yun Mibu sighed, knowing that was the wrong direction in her quest of these golden zebra queen even he didn't know if was real. He was sure there probably was a zebra queen, but not on her coloration.
He should go in after her, whether he got in trouble for it or not, and that was what he was working on when Tara came rushing over to him. "Oh good, I thought something happened to you". It was then that he noticed a less colorfully patterned human was with her.
Her friend. Kabili, as she introduced, after saying a wrong name it sounded like.
Lost like her no doubt. "Oh! There's more of you? Tara told me how she was lost. I mean, hi". He should have started with Hi.

Kabili titled his head.
Dang was he already around here long enough to feel like “Duh, why wouldn’t they have cultures?” That was a little weird for him because a few months ago he would have been just as dumbfounded. “Yeah, it’s pretty cool. They even have their own dialects too,” he pointed out. Grinning. “I hope I get to learn at least most of them.”
Oh! His dad. Yeah, he supposed that would be a good idea - or at least to make Kion aware of her. “I’ll talk to them and we’ll see about meeting soon,” Kabili finally managed. “Things have just been a little crazy right now. They prepared a whole week for my presentation. And I think he trusts me not to invite anyone who’s trouble in anyway.”
When they reached the leopard in question, Kabili noted he looked a little more like Makucha’s type than Akachi (who was still the only dark colored one he’d seen) but kept a friendly smile. He let Tara explain what was going on anyway before he finally got acknowledged.
“Yeah, actually we think there are a couple more of us,” he explained. Shaking his head at something happening though. “Don’t worry though, no one was gonna bother her while she was with me. At least I don’t think.”
He supposed he should explain that before the leopard questioned it huh? “I’m uh... Prince Kabili, son of King Simba,” he pointed out politely so that true leopard would know he wasn’t talking out of his ass. Feeling weird as it was the first time he’d introduced himself as such. “I mean... As for like three days ago, anyway.” He chuckled nervously.
Thanks to Makucha though he was sure word about that had gotten around anyway.

"Dialects? Are they...typical animal sounding or...like learning another language?". All of this was just so odd, being able to communicate with the animals and so considering stuff like this and true dialects, not just noises.
She nodded at the idea of meeting lions. Well, but Bili was living with them. If he could do that, she could meet them, and they sounded very Not Prone to Biting Your Head Off.
"Well that's good, and I promise not to make trouble for ya", she grinned, and was unaware that in just a few days she would break that promise a bit, maybe, by crashing a glider into Thurston's herd...but she meant on purpose.
She got the meaning though. She was fine, and as another 'kid', even if they were both teens now. The Expedition probably wouldn't be and she agreed it probably wouldn't be safe to bring them into all of this.
Yun Mibu was sort of endearing in just how he acted or did things at times. Very not typical for what you would expect of a 'big cat', though even with what little animal knowledge Tara had, she recalled there was some disagreement on if they fit that classification or not.
Bili's mom had probably known, so he might know.
"Yeah, sorry", she felt almost guilty with how worried it looked like he had gotten, then listened as he and Bili discussed the Expedition, basically. She sighed. "Yeah and...I'm not sure who of them I'd tell you to trust and not, just...", she shared a look with Bili before glancing back at the leopard, "If you do see them be careful and probably talk to one of us first about it".
She hated to say it, but again, some of the adults were 'shoot first ask question later'.
There was something about your friend who was now a lion prince vouching for you. Tara gave a small smile before it grew in amusement as he added "he didn't think" they would have bothered her. "Let's hope not". She was sure Bili had the trust of the kingdom, though; it sounded like he did.
"Oh and Bili said it's mainly jackals that are all out not welcomed, so...I won't speak for him and the king and queen, but it should maybe be fine you coming and going to", she gave Kabili another checking glance though. "And since you're not Makucha. Apparently he's mean", he simplified with a smile.

Tara Walker's friend said there could be a few more of them. Humans like these two, but then she added she wasn't sure on trusting them. "Oh don't worry, I will, and I never get too close to animals I'm not sure about".
Though he also took a lot of chances and didn't avoid making friends with other predators just for their predator state, and being larger than him most times.
It also implied he was sure about Kabili, and with Tara's own vouching.
"Oh and king and queen took you in, that's great", Yun Mibu got the implied from both the boy's own words as well as the fact that what little Tara had told him of her group, she hadn't mentioned any of them had any positions before.
Tara hesitantly, and not overstepping her boundaries, said it should be fine, his coming and going for her sake and now that she had found her friend here in the Pride Lands. "Oh good, as Tara no doubt told you, I'm sort of doing the same as the king and queen and at least keeping an eye on her, but only for as long as she needs me", he gave the girl a smile that told her she wasn't obligated to anything but also wasn't a burden. "And my own typical prey is still mainly in the Outlands so I won't mess with your herds your majesty, promise", he gave a small dip of a bow before tilting his head curiously. "I keep hearing about how mean that Makucha is".

Kabili had to think about it a minute. He supposed from what Zazu said, it was a little of both. But he hadn’t actually started his teachings yet so it was hard to tell. “I think it’s a little of both, but I can’t be too sure,” he explained honestly. “I guess we’ll see when I’ve learned a bit more.”
But back to Yun Mibu, who was very polite, which was a good sign. Honestly he was always a little nervous now about meeting new animals. But then again, he was slowly working on the “shy” part of his personality.
“Yeah though it’s a little deeper than taking me in now,” he chuckled. It was honestly still getting used to saying that too. “I guess so far I’m the one that’s staying. There was an adoption - like formal. So it’s been kind of a whirlwind.” He chuckled.
He did smile a little bit though as he mentioned taking Tara in or at least keeping an eye on her. “I’m glad she has someone looking out for her too. We probably wouldn’t have made it far without help,” he admitted honestly. He didn’t correct the bow, knowing it was an action of respect by now but did mention. “You can call me Kabili or Bili by the way.”
As he mentioned Makucha his brow furrowed. “I mean, he *seemed* ok when I met him. But my father and brother both say he’s not the trustworthy type so who knows.”

Tara had asked her question from a very practical place, and so listened to the answer intently, nodding. "But...and I don't mean to be insulting, just...probably too practical", she shrugged, "Is it...possible to...say it all correctly? I mean would our vocal cords be able to perfectly speak zebra?", she threw out for an example.
Probably because she had just upset a herd of zebra and on some level she didn't want to be seen as nuisance.
"Well let me know your success, and maybe I'll try it too", she grinned. Not officially, and whoever was his tutor didn't have to tutor her, more...playing with it and seeing if she could, perhaps.
In Bili meeting Yun Mibu, Tara wasn't sure who was more nervous, it was a little amusing, though she wouldn't say so.
She had to back up his point, though, about how both of them were lucky to have these cats who had looked out for and taken an interest in them. She'd told Yun Mibu about the same before but added another smile to him as Bili added to it.
Unfortunately she felt they both knew all about people with varying layers, some of the expedition fitting that, her own young intuition had noticed even early one; maybe this Makucha only played nice but had agendas and things (or maybe he didn't was just openly nasty).
She would be careful either-way.

Yun Mibu nodded as the human prince pointed out it was a bit deeper than just taking in now, and with him being adopted in as an official member of the royal family. He had asked Tara about her own guardians, and received sort of the same answer she gave Bili about not well known extended and just figuring it out with her own independent nature.
Young clouded leopards often did similar, leaving shortly after being weaned, so it didn't strike him as odd as it perhaps should of. "Well then I'm very glad you found help as well", he smiled, then nodded again to the point about Makucha as well as permission to call him by either his full or nickname. "Thankyou, your--uh Kabili".

Honestly, Kabili didn’t know.
That was a really good question though. Could he produce them all? Or would they learn quickly that he couldn’t? But at the same time he did have to note. “Well, I do know my dads majordomo, Zazu has taught him some,” he explained honestly. “So if he can I can’t imagine I won’t be able to do it. Maybe. I’ll let you know how it goes.”
Kabili smiled, definitely glad that the colluded leopard seemed to be getting comfortable. He definitely didn’t want them to feel like he was too intimidating. Even if he did have to command a certain respect and presence - but that could be done while still being kind. Simba had taught him that.
“Yeah, I was actually telling Tara I do have a leopard named Akachi to thank for that,” he pointed out honestly. “He found me when I was about half dead and helped lead me there. So you guys have my respect - the good ones anyway, obviously.” He chuckled.
He then pointed out. “I’m glad you found Tara too. I think if we hadn’t found you guys we’d probably be vulture food by now.”

Tara hadn't meant to doubt too far with her question, and again only asked out of practicality. She nodded, "Well I might have only known your for this trip, but I get the feeling if any human can learn to speak Lion and Zebra it's you", she grinned.
Ok maybe he had already figured out the first.
She also took note of this leopard's name, Akachi. who had helped Sam when he was still Sam, and to give her thanks as well, if she ever saw him. Not likely if he hadn't kept touch, but who knew? Even if Bili's permission, she still wasn't sure where she and perhaps also Yun Mibu would be spending most of their time.
She would feel out how this visit went and what she felt best by the end of it. She nodded, backing up Bili's point, "Or fallen off the ledge you found me on", she told the leopard.

Akachi. Yun Mibu didn't know the name, yet he filed it away as well for if he ever ran across him and nodded. "Well I'm glad other leopards are also being so helpful" he commented with a smile.
He was also glad he had been able to save Tara. "Your pack did almost as good as my tail, at least allowing me to get there thankfully", he told her as she brought up the ledge again, holding up and glancing back to his tail before looking back at the two humans. He was still convinced it was the reason humans carried around these things they called packs, or which Tara had called a pack.

The ledge?
Damn, just what had Tara gotten herself into? Though he guessed he wasn’t much better, before Akachi had found him he was literally wandering aimlessly in circles around Hakuna Matata Falls. It was dangerous as he knew now not to know where you were going in these parts after all.
“Man a ledge? I feel it though, the first week I was trekking away from where I buried mom I almost walked into the Outlands,” he explained honestly. Thankfully that voice, which he now assumed to be one of the ancient kings had nagged him until he had moved far away. “Thankfully we’re kids and not adults though. I feel like they’re the ones that’ll freak out the most.”
After all - human adults feared what they didn’t understand most of the time. “But what matters most is we’re safe now anyway,” he replied. “And that we find them before things get out of hand or anything.”
